헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘 ! 12월 31일 <하느님께서 그리신 것> God’s Imagination 우리는 서로 간에 거리를 유지하는데  많은 정력이며 시간과 돈을 들입니다.  서로에 대해 자신을 방어하고, 권력을 유지하거나 늘리며 자신의 우월적 지위를 지키는 데 세상 자원의 거의 모두를 씁니다. 이 모든 것을 평화와 화해를 위해 봉사하는 데 쓴다고 마음 속으로 그려 보십시오! 과연 가난이 있겠습니까? 범죄와 전쟁이 있겠습니까? 그냥 사람들 사이에 더 이상은 두려움, 경쟁심, 적개심, 혐오감, 앙갚음이 없다고 그려 보십시오. 이 지구별의 모든 이들이 손에 손을 잡고 하나의 커다란 사랑의 원을 만든다고 그려 보십시오. 우리는 "그리지도 못 하겠습니다."라 말하지만 하느님께서는 이렇게 말씀하십니다. "내가 그린 것이 바로 이것이니라. 내가 만들었고 내 모습으로 살아있는 온 세상이니라." "너희가 많은 열매를 맺고 내 제자가 되면, 그것으로 내 아버지께서 영광스럽게 되실 것이다."(요한15,8) God’s Imagination DECEMBER 31 So much of our energy, time, and money goes into maintaining distance from one another. Many if not most of the resources of the world are used to defend ourselves against each other, to maintain or increase our power, and to safeguard our own privileged position. Imagine all that effort being put in the service of peace and reconciliation! Would there be any poverty? Would there be crimes and wars? Just imagine that there was no longer fear among people, no longer any rivalry, hostility, bitterness, or revenge. Just imagine all the people on this planet holding hands and forming one large circle of love. We say, “I can’t imagine.” But God says, “That’s what I imagine, a whole world not only created but also living in my image.” "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." - John 15: 8 (NIV)   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
