끝과 또 시작 ! 새해에도 애오라지 하느님의 자비와 평화가 늘 함께 하시길 기도드립니다. 방진선 토마스 모어 합장 헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘 ! 12월 31일 [백] 천주의 성모 마리아 대축일(세계 평화의 날) <새해 묵상> A meditation for the new year 우리가 배워야 하는 건 매일, 매시, 그렇습니다, 매분을 새로운 시작으로, 모든 걸 새롭게 할 둘도 없는 기회로 사는 겁니다. 매 순간을 새 생명이 잉태되는 순간으로 살 수 있다는 걸 그려보십시오.하루하루를 약속들이 가득 찬 하루로 살 수 있다는 걸 그려보십시오.  늘 이런 목소리를 들으며 새해를 걸어갈 수 있다는 걸 그려보십시오: "네게 줄 선물이 있으니 어서 빨리 열어보거라 !" 그려보십시오. 그려본다고 삶의 진실로 나아갈 수 있다는 게 가능할까요? 그럼요. 할 수 있지요 ! 문제는 해가 갈수록 시나브로 길어지는 지난날에서 이런 목소리가 들려오게 한다는 겁니다. "넌 죄다 알고 죄다 봤잖아. 그러니 현실을 봐야지. 앞날은 그저 지난날이 거듭되는 것뿐이여. 그러니 살아남는 데 온힘을 다해 애쓰게나." 수많은 교활한 여우들이 어깨 위에 뛰어올라 귀에 대고 엄청난 거짓말을 속닥거립니다. "태양 아래 새로운 것이란 없는거여…속지 마라" 이 여우들이 하는 말에 귀를 기울인다면 결국은 그 말이 맞다는걸 보여주는 꼴이 되는 겁니다. 새해, 새날, 새시간이 단조롭고, 지겨우며, 따분하고, 지루해지며, 새로운 건 하나도 없어지는 겁니다. 그럼 어떻게 해야 하는가요? 우선 여우들을 제자리인 여우굴로 돌러보내야 합니다. 그리고 나서 삶의 계곡과 언덕으로 메아리 치는 목소리에 마음과 가슴을 활짝 열어야 합니다. “보라, 이제 하느님의 거처는 사람들 가운데에 있다. 하느님께서 사람들과 함께 거처하시고 그들은 하느님의 백성이 될 것이다. 하느님 친히 그들의 하느님으로서 그들과 함께 계시고 그들의 눈에서 모든 눈물을 닦아 주실 것이다. 다시는 죽음이 없고 다시는 슬픔도 울부짖음도 괴로움도 없을 것이다. 이전 것들이 사라져 버렸기 때문이다.”(묵시21,2-5) <A meditation for the new year> “We must learn to live each day, each hour, yes, each minute as a new beginning, as a unique opportunity to make everything new. Imagine that we could live each moment as a moment pregnant with new life. Imagine that we could live each day as a day full of promises. Imagine that we could walk through the new year always listening to the voice saying to us: “I have a gift for you and can’t wait for you to see it!” Imagine. Is it possible that our imagination can lead us to the truth of our lives? Yes, it can! The problem is that we allow our past, which becomes longer and longer each year, to say to us: “You know it all; you have seen it all, be realistic; the future will just be a repeat of the past. Try to survive it as best you can.” There are many cunning foxes jumping on our shoulders and whispering in our ears the great lie: “There is nothing new under the sun… don’t let yourself be fooled.” When we listen to these foxes, they eventually prove themselves right: our new year, our new day, our new hour become flat, boring, dull, and without anything new. So what are we to do? First, we must send the foxes back to where they belong: in their foxholes. And then we must open our minds and our hearts to the voice that resounds through the valleys and hills of our life saying: “Let me show you where I live among my people. My name is ‘God-with-you.’ I will wipe all the tears from your eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness.
