1, 1-18 The Word Became Flesh  말씀이 사람이 되시다.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning.
    

3

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. 그로부터 생명이 나왔으며, 이 생명은 사람들의 빛이었다. 그 빛이 어둠속에서 빛나고 있다. 그러나 어둠이 빛을 이겨본 적이 없다.

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John.

He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe.

He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--

children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, ’He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ "

16

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.

17

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 율법은 모세로부터 받았지만, 은총과 진실은 예수 그리스도를 통하여 온다.

18

No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.

      저는 요즈음 "때가 차매" 라는 말씀이 참 와닿습니다. 정말로 모든 일에는 때가 있는 것 같습니다. 주님께서 저희가 태어나기 전부터 계획하신 그런 주님의 때가 말이지요.

      저, 오는 6월 20일 주일날 세례를 목표로, 이번 주부터 견진성사 준비에 들어갑니다. 캐나다에 있는 동안에는 그렇게 노력해도 안되던 일이, 한국에 돌아와 때가 차매(*^^*) 어찌어찌 안되던 일도 성사되게 되는 군요. 작년 봄, 견진을 받고 싶은데 그렇지 못해 무척 낙심했을 때, ’Be patient’하라고 충고해주셨던 캐나다 신부님이 생각납니다. "당신이 존경하는 요한 성인은 참으로 인내심이 많은 분, 하느님의 때를 기다릴 줄 아는 분이셨다"구요.


     특히 감사한 일은 이번 견진성사공부가 저희 직장내  가톨릭교우모임에서 이루어지게 된 것입니다. 함께 견진을 받게될 8-10명의 동료들은 물론, 이미 견진을 받으신 동료분들도 "덕분에 새로이 영적 무장을 하게 될 것 같다." 하며 반기십니다. 직장과 가정생활을 병행하는 저희 직장인들로서는 이런 기회가 주어진 것이 얼마나 감사한 일인지 모르겠습니다. 참으로 좋은 기회를 허락해주신 우리 주 하느님과 가톨릭 직장사목부 여러분들, 또 저희 이웃 포이동성당 모든 분들께 다시 한번 감사드립니다.

 

      사랑이신 주님,
      당신의 은총과 배려에 참으로 감사드립니다. 지금 저의 이러한 기쁨과 감사가 견진성사공부가 끝나는 시간까지 한결같이 지속될 수 있도록 이끌어주시옵소서. 또한 그 기간동안 제가 해야할 작은 봉사가 있다면 기꺼이 그 일을 감당할 수 있도록 도와주소서.
     "내 이름으로 두 세명만 모여도 너희와 함께 하겠다." 약속하신 주님, 저희는 주님이 저희와 늘 함께 하실 것을 믿습니다. 아멘.
