Jesus Teaches Nicodemus 예수께서 니고데모를 가르치다.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council.

He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him."

In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. "

"How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!"

Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

You should not be surprised at my saying, ’You must be born again. 너는 거듭나야 한다. ’

8

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

"How can this be?" Nicodemus asked.

"You are Israel’s teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things?

11

I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.

12

I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

13

No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man.

14

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

18

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

19

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

20

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

21

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

     오늘 아침에는 아주 늦게 일어나 버렸습니다. 원래대로라면 3시에 일어나야 합니다. 그런데 요며칠 자주 3시를 넘기고, 4시에도 못일어나고, 5시가 되어서야 ’이제는 정말 더 이상 안돼...’하고 겨우겨우 일어납니다. 그런데 오늘은 더 늦어 버렸네요.

       새벽에 일어나 묵상글을 쓰겠다는 약속은 제가 주님께 드린 소중한 약속입니다. 제 하루의 삶 중에 가장 먼저 하는 일이지요. 그런데 오늘 아침에는 6시가 되어서야 일어나고 보니, 그 시간이면 일어나 컴퓨터게임을 하는 제 아들녀석이 무척 화가 났습니다. 엄마가 아무리 양해를 구해도, "지금은 내가 컴퓨터쓰는 시간이야. 엄마가 벌써 약속했쟎아..."하고, 이만 저만 투덜대는 것이 아닙니다.


       예... 이럴 때는 저도 참으로 난감하고 망설여집니다. 제가 주님께 드린 약속을 지키기 위해 비록 늦게나마 묵상글을 쓰고 출근해야하는지, 아니면 아이에게 자리를 양보해주고 서둘러서 출근준비를 해야하는지 말이지요... 또, 하느님과의 약속을 지키는 일과 아이와의 약속을 지키는 일 중에, 어떤 일이 하느님 보시기에 더  좋은 행동, 사랑하는 행동인지 말이지요.


       마음이 참으로 복잡해졌지만, 어쨌든 오늘 아침에는 제 약속을 고집해보았습니다. 견진공부기간을 맞아 특별히 주님께, 또 요한 성인께 드린 약속이 있습니다. 매일매일 요한복음의 구절을 나누어 40번씩 읽어 보겠다는 약속말입니다. 때로는 조금 무리가 가고 때로는 힘이 들더라도 저는 그 소중한 약속을 꼭 지키내고 싶습니다.


       사랑이신 주님,
       오늘 아침, 저의 모습을 이미 다 보셨으니..., 주님, 저희 게으름과 무례를 용서하십시오.
       
       주님,
       저는 새벽에 일어나 당신을 향해 묵상글을 쓰는 이 시간이 참으로 기쁩니다. 때론 힘이 들지만 더 많은 순간, 참으로 감사하고 행복합니다. 예...저는 이 글로 인해, 때로는 친구를 만들기도 하고, 또 때로는 비난자들의 공격(*^^*)을 받기도 합니다. 하지만 주님, 그런 모든 것들이 제게는 더없이 소중한 것입니다.

        그러니 주님, 제가 아프지 않게 해주십시오. 매일매일 어김없이 기꺼이 일찍 일어날 수 있도록 제게 지금보다 더 강건한 정신을 내려주십시오. 그리고 오늘 아침 저의 게으름 때문에 상처를 받은 제 아들아이의 마음을 당신께서 어루만져 주십시오.
       
        저의 부족함을 누구보다도 잘 아시나, 늘 사랑으로 품어주시고 안아주시는 사랑이 많으신 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.
