John the Baptist’s Testimony About Jesus 요한이 예수에게 세례를 주다.

After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized.

Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were constantly coming to be baptized. 거기에는 물이 풍부했기 때문에 사람들이 끊임없이 와서 세례를 받았다.

An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing.

They came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan--the one you testified about--well, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him."

To this John replied, "A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.

28

You yourselves can testify that I said, ’I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of him.’

The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

He must become greater; I must become less.

"The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all.

He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.

The man who has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

35

The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.

36

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him."

        오늘은 바오로 딸 출판사(성 바오로 딸 수도회 http://www.pauline.or.kr)의 10주년 기념 미사가 있는 날입니다. 2001년 11월 첫 영세 때, ’야곱의 우물’ 선물로 처음 만난 바오로 딸과 저의 인연은 그 이후 이런저런 모습으로 지속되어 오고 있습니다. 처음에는 독자로, 다음에는 구독후원자로, 다음에는 기고자로, 또 다음에는 그곳 수녀님들의 친구가 되어서 말입니다.

  

        ’바오로 딸’은 창립자인 복자 야고보 알베리오네 신부님의 이끄심에 따라 ’대중속에 복음을 전하기 위해’ 사람들 사이로 파고드는 출판사업을 시작하였습니다. 지금 우리 한국의 바오로 딸은, 월간지 ’야곱의 우물’을 비롯하여 우리 자신들을 일깨우는 다종다양한 꼭 필요한 책들을 많이 출간하고 있는, 참 좋은 출판사입니다. 인터넷에서 사이버기도실이나 음악감상실, 다양한 성서공부 모임도 운영하고 있지요.



       그런 바오로 딸이 벌써 창사 10주년이 되었다고 합니다. 작년 연말에 찾아갔을 때는, 마침 비좁은 작은 건물에서 바로 뒤 새 건물로 옮겨가고 있는 중이었습니다. 저는 오늘 10주년 기념미사에 참석해서 주님 주신 새 건물에서 주님도 만나고, 또 우리 주님의 열렬한 애제자들인- 바오로 딸 수녀님들도 반갑게 만나야겠습니다.  혹시 강북구 미아9동, 성 바오로 딸 수도회 근처에 사시는 분들이 계신다면, 10주년 기념 미사에 함께 참석하시면 좋겠네요.



       사랑이신 주님,
       주님이 귀한 인연으로 맺어주신 저의 ’바오로 딸’이 오늘 10주년  미사행사를 연다고 합니다. 그 일을 위해 지금 이시간도 수고하고 계실, 우리 바오로 딸의 많은 수녀님들, 신부님들, 성도들에게 당신께서 함께 해주소서. 그래서 더 많이 힘나게 하시고, 더 활기있게 하시고, 더 위로받게 해주시기 바랍니다.

       그리고 우리의 바오로 딸 출판사가 당신의 희망대로 사람들 속으로 더 깊이 더 많이 파고들어, 당신의 사랑과 희망을 더 많은 사람들에게 전해줄 수 있는, 마치 오늘 성서의 말씀대로 ’물이 풍부하여 사람들이 끊임없이 찾아오는 활기넘치는 강가와 같은’ 그런 좋은 출판사로 더욱 더 쑥쑥 자라날 수 있도록 이끌어주십시오.

       당신을 위해 수고한 모든 자들에게 그 수고의 몇 배를 기쁨으로 갚아주시는, 사랑이 많으신 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.
