What a statement of confidence!
Either Mary already knew what Jesus was going to do, or she had such a connection with him that she was certain he would grant her request. Either way, it's a moving picture of what intimacy with God can look like. Who knows? It's even possible that Mary helped launch Jesus' ministry. Isn't it possible that she helped to usher in Jesus' hour by her confidence in dealing both with the servants and with her son?
And look at the way Jesus responded to Mary's request. This was not just filial respect. It was love that moved his heart. Jesus cared about the things that were important to Mary, just as she had his concerns uppermost in her heart. Isn't that what intimacy is all about?
This intimacy with Jesus is what makes Mary such a powerful intercessor. The goal of anyone taking up intercessory prayer is to unite themselves with the needs of those they are praying for and to unite themselves to God at the same time. They become a bridge, so to speak, between the needs of the people and the will and heart of the One who answers every need in his wisdom and compassion.
But Mary is more than a great intercessor; she is also a model for us of what intimacy with God looks like. Only someone who knows God's heart can boldly approach his throne the way she does. Only a person who surrenders his or her life to the Lord can be close enough to not only hear what is on his heart but also get others to listen to and obey him as well. As she did that day in Cana, Mary always points people to Jesus.
Do you believe that you have this potential? Can you become as close to Jesus as Mary was? Believe it. It is possible! Every day when you wake up, simply give your heart to Jesus and then try your best to live close to him throughout the day. The results will astound you!
Lord Jesus, I yield my life to you right now.
I ask you to show me the desires of your heart.
I want to think as you think and
desire only what you desire.

얼마나 감동적인 신뢰의 선언입니까!
성모님은 예수님께서 하실 일을 벌써 알고 계셨거나 예수님과 깊은 관계에 계셨기에 당신의 청을 들어주실 것을 확신하셨을 것입니다. 어느 쪽이든, 하느님과 친밀함이 어느 정도인지를 보여주는 참으로 감동적인 장면입니다. 모르긴 해도, 예수님께서 직무를 시작할 수 있도록 성모님께서 도우신 것일 수도 있습니다. 성모님께서 당신 아드님과 하인들에 대한 신뢰에 찬 행동을 통해 예수님의 때를 알리는 데 한 몫을 한 것은 아닐까요?
또한 성모님의 청에 예수님께서 어떻게 응답하셨는지 봅시다. 그것은 단지 자식으로서의 존경만이 아니었습니다. 그의 마음을 움직인 것은 사랑이었습니다. 예수님께 대한 배려를 가장 우위에 두었던 성모님만큼 예수님께서도 성모님이 중요하게 여기시는 것에 마음을 썼습니다. 이러한 것이야말로 친밀함이 아닐까요?
예수님과 성모님 사이의 이러한 친밀함이 성모님을 힘있는 전구자로 만들어 줍니다. 하느님께 전구하는 사람의 목적은 기도를 청하는 사람의 필요에 부합하는 동시에 하느님과 결합하는 것입니다. 이를테면 전구자는 사람들의 요청과, 연민과 지혜로 모든 청에 응답하시는 분의 의지와 마음 사이를 연결해 주는 다리가 됩니다.
그러나 성모님은 훌륭한 전구자 이상이십니다. 우리에게 성모님은 하느님과 맺는 친밀함이 어떠해야 하는가를 잘 보여주는 본보기이십니다. 성모님처럼 하느님의 마음을 아는 사람만이 주님의 옥좌에 주저하지 않고 다가갈 수 있습니다. 주님께 자신의 인생을 의탁한 사람만이 그분께 가까이 다가감으로써 그분 마음의 소리에 귀 기울일 뿐 아니라 다른 사람이 그분의 소리를 듣고 따르게 합니다. 그날 카나에서 하신 것처럼 성모님은 사람들을 항상 예수님께로 향하게 하십니다.
당신에게 그러한 잠재력이 있다고 생각합니까? 성모님만큼 예수님과 가까운 사람이 될 수 있습니까? 믿으세요. 가능합니다! 매일 아침 잠에서 깰 때, 당신의 마음을 단순하게 예수님께 드리십시오. 그리고 최선을 다해 하루 내내 주님과 가까이 살도록 노력하십시오. 당신은 그 결과에 놀라게 될 것입니다!

주님의 마음이 원하시는 것을 저에게 보여주십시오.
저는 주님께서 생각하시는 대로 생각하고
