The Apostles' Creed (사도신경)

I believe in God,
the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ,
his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,

Act of Reflection (반성기도)

O Lord, help me to examine fully the sins
I have committed today in thought, word, and deed,
and through any unfulfilled duty,
and make me aware of those faults
that have become habits.
Amen.

The Confiteor (고백기도)

I confess to almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned through my own fault
(strike their breast)
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done,
and in what I have failed to do;
and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin,
all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
May almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us our sins
and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.

Act of Contrition (통회기도)

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you
whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance, to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy.
Amen.

Act of Faith (신덕송)

O my God, I firmly believe all the truths
that the holy catholic Church believes and teaches.
I believe these truths, O Lord,
because you have revealed them to her
and in this faith I am resolved to live and die.
Amen.

Act of Hope (망덕송)

O my God, relying on your promies,
I hope that, through the infinite merits of Jesus Christ,

and to obtain eternal happiness in the next.
Amen.

Offering (봉헌기도)

O Lord, from love you created me, giving me a soul and body,

eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer you my prayers, works,
joys, and sufferings of this day
for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart,
in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world,
in thanksgiving for your favors,
in reparation for my sins,
for all intentions of all my relatives and friends,
and in particular for all intentions of the Holy Father.
Amen.

Arising from Sleep (잠에서 깨어날 때)

O Master and holy God, who are beyond our understanding:
at your word, light came forth out of darkness.
In your mercy, you gave us rest through night-long sleep,
and raised us up to glorify your goodness
and to offer our supplication to You.
Now, in your own tender love, accept us who adore You
and give thanks to You with all our heart.
Grant us all our requests, if they lead to salvation;
give us the grace of manifesting that we are children of light and day,
and heirs to your eternal reward.
In the abundance of your mercies,
O Lord, remember all your people;
all those present who pray with us;
all our brothers and sisters on land, at sea, or in the air,
in every place of Your domain,
who call upon your love for humankind.
Upon all, pour down your great mercy,
that we, saved in body and in soul, may persevere unfailingly;
and that, in our confidence,
we may extol your exalted and blessed Name,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
always, now and forever. Amen.

A Night Prayer (저녁기도)

I adore you, my God,
and I love you with all my heart.
I thank you for having created me,
made me a Christian and kept me this day.
Pardon me the evil I have done,
and if I have done some good, accept it.
Take care of me while I sleep
and deliver me from all danger.
May your grace be always with me
and with all my loved ones.
Amen.

Evening Prayer to God the Father

O eternal God and Ruler of all creation,
You have allowed me to reach this hour.
Forgive the sins I have committed this day
by word, deed or thought.
Purify me, O Lord,
from every spiritual and physical stain.
Grant that I may rise from this sleep to glorify
You by my deeds throughout my entire lifetime,
and that I be victorious over every spiritual and physical enemy.
Deliver me, O Lord, from all vain thoughts and from evil desires,
for yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
now and ever, and forever. Amen.

Evening Prayer to the Son of God

O Only-Begotten Word of the Father,
Jesus Christ, who alone are perfect:
according to the greatness of your mercy,
do not abandon me, your servant,
but ever rest in my heart.
O Sweet Jesus, Good Shepherd of Your flock,
deliver me from the attacks of The Enemy.
Do not allow me to become the prey of Satan's evil intent,
even though I have within me the seed of eternal damnation.
Instead, O Lord Jesus Christ, Adorable God, Holy King,
while I sleep, protect me by Your Holy spirit,
through Whom You sanctified Your Apostles.
Enlighten my mind by the light of the Holy Gospel,
my soul by the love of Your Cross,
my heart by the purity of Your teaching.
Protect my body by Your sacred passion,
my senses by Your humility,
and awaken me in due time for Your glorification.
For You, above all, are adorable,
together with Your eternal Father, and the Holy Spirit,
now and ever, and forever. Amen.
(By Saint Antiochus)

Evening Prayer to the Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit, most merciful Comforter:
You proceed from the Father in a manner beyond our understanding.
Come, I beseech You,
and take up your abode in my heart.
Purify and cleanse me from all sin, and sanctify my soul.
Cleanse it from every impurity,
water its dryness, melt its coldness,
and save it from its sinful ways.
Make me truly humble and resigned,
that I may be pleasing to You,
and that You might abide with me forever.
Most Blessed Light, most Amiable Light,
enlighten me.
O Rapturous Joy of Paradise, Fount of Purest Delight,
My God, give yourself to me
and kindle in my innermost soul the fire of Your love.
My Lord, instruct, direct, and defend me in all things.
Give me strength against all immoderate fears and against despondency.
Bestow upon me a true faith, a firm hope,
and a sincere and a perfect love.
Grant that I always do Your Most Gracious Will. Amen.
