헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 10월 8일 <하나가 되는 성사라는 것> Sacrament of Unity 성체성사는 일치의 성사입니다.  그 성사로 우리는 한 몸을 이루게 되는 겁니다. 사도 바오로께서는 이렇게 씁니다. “빵이 하나이므로 우리는 여럿일지라도 한 몸입니다. 우리 모두 한 빵을 함께 나누기 때문입니다."(1코린 10,17) 성체성사에는 우리가 그리스도 안에서 일치를 기념하는 자리 이상으로 휠씬 깊은 뜻이 있는 겁니다.  성체성사는 이러한 일치를 새로 만드는 겁니다. 같은 빵을 먹고 같은 잔을 마심으로 우리는 세상에 살아계시는 그리스도의 몸이 되는 겁니다.  빵을 떼실 때 그리스도께서 참으로 우리와 가까이 계시는 것처럼, 우리는 한 몸의 지체인 그리스도의 형제 자매로서 서로에게 참으로 가까이 있게 되는 겁니다. 하여 성체성사는 일치를 나타낼 뿐만 아니라 일치를 새로 만드는 겁니다. "우리가 축복하는 그 축복의 잔은 그리스도의 피에 동참하는 것이 아닙니까? 우리가 떼는 빵은 그리스도의 몸에 동참하는 것이 아닙니까? 빵이 하나이므로 우리는 여럿일지라도 한 몸입니다. 우리 모두 한 빵을 함께 나누기 때문입니다."(1코린10,16-17) Sacrament of Unity OCTOBER 8 The Eucharist is the sacrament of unity. It makes us into one body. The apostle Paul writes: “As there is one loaf, so we, although there are many of us, are one single body, for we all share in the one loaf” (1 Corinthians 10:17). The Eucharist is much more than a place where we celebrate our unity in Christ. The Eucharist creates this unity. By eating from the same bread and drinking from the same cup, we become the body of Christ present in the world. Just as Christ becomes really present to us in the breaking of the bread, we become really present to one another as brothers and sisters of Christ, members of the same body. Thus the Eucharist not only signifies unity but also creates it. Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread we break a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf." - I Corinthians 10: 16, 17 (NIV)   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
