헨리 나웬  신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! )2월 11일 [자] 대림 제3주일(자선 주일) <새 하늘 새 땅> A New Heaven and a New Earth 예수님께서 나시기 오래 전에 예언자 이사야는 그리스도의 위대한 일치의 구원 사업에 대한 환시(幻視·비전)를 보았습니다. 예수님께서 이승을 떠나신지 여러 해가 지난 다음 사랑하시던 제자 요한도 이와 비슷한 또 다른 환시를 보았습니다. 제자는  새 하늘과 새 땅을 보았습니다. 모든 피조물이 탈바꿈하여 죽지않는 옷으로 단장하고 완전한 그리스도의 신부가 된 겁니다. 요한의 환시 가운데 부활하신 그리스도께서는 어좌에서 말씀하십니다. "보라, 내가 모든 것을 새롭게 만든다.… 보라, 이제 하느님의 거처는 사람들 가운데에 있다. 하느님께서 사람들과 함께 거처하시고 그들은 하느님의 백성이 될 것이다. 하느님 친히 그들의 하느님으로서 그들과 함께 계시고 그들의 눈에서 모든 눈물을 닦아 주실 것이다. 다시는 죽음이 없고 다시는 슬픔도 울부짖음도 괴로움도 없을 것이다. 이전 것들이 사라져 버렸기 때문이다." (묵시 21,5; 21,3-4) 예언자 이사야와 사도 요한은 세상 만물을 아우르시는 그리스도의 구원의 바탈(本性)에 우리 눈을 열어주는 겁니다. 그 천사가 또 나에게 말하였습니다. “이 말씀은 확실하고 참된 말씀이다. 주님, 곧 예언자들에게 영을 내려 주시는 하느님께서 머지않아 반드시 일어날 일들을 당신 종들에게 보여 주시려고 당신 천사를 보내신 것이다.”(묵시22,6) A New Heaven and a New Earth DECEMBER 11 Long before Jesus was born the prophet Isaiah had a vision of Christ’s great unifying work of salvation. Many years after Jesus died, John, the beloved disciple, had another but similar vision: He saw a new heaven and a new earth. All of creation had been transformed, dressed with immortality to be the perfect bride of Christ. In John’s vision the risen Christ speaks from his throne, saying: “Look, I am making the whole of creation new. …. Look, here God lives among human beings. He will make his home among them; they will be his people, and he will be their God, God-with-them. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness or pain. The world of the past has gone” (Revelation 21:5; 21:3-4). Both Isaiah and John open our eyes to the all-inclusive nature of Christ’s saving work. The angel said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place." - Revelation 22:6   † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
