고통과 희망 Sufferings of the Prophet and His People
1 나는 그분 격노의 막대로 고통을 겪은 사나이. 1 I am a man who knows affliction from the rod of his anger,
2 그분께서는 빛 없는 어둠 속으로 나를 몰아쳐 걷게 하시고 2 One whom he has led and forced to walk in darkness, not in the light;
3 당신 손을 날마다 나에게 돌려 내리치시네. 3 Against me alone he brings back his hand again and again all the day.
4 내 살과 내 살갗을 닳아 없어지게 하시고 내 뼈를 부수시며 4 He has worn away my flesh and my skin, he has broken my bones;
5 쓰라림과 괴로움으로 성을 쌓아 나를 에우시고 5 He has beset me round about with poverty and weariness;
6 오래전에 죽은 자들처럼 나를 암흑 속에 살게 하셨네. 6 He has left me to dwell in the dark like those long dead.
7 내 둘레에 빠져나갈 수 없는 담을 쌓으시고 쇠사슬로 나를 무겁게 채우셨네. 7 He has hemmed me in with no escape and weighed me down with chains;
8 내가 소리 지르며 도움을 청해도 내 기도 소리에 귀를 막아 버리시고 8 Even when I cry out for help, he stops my prayer;
9 내 길에 마름돌로 담을 쌓으시며 내 앞길을 막아 버리셨네. 9 He has blocked my ways with fitted stones, and turned my paths aside.
10 나에게 그분은 숨어 기다리는 곰 매복하여 엿보는 사자. 10 A lurking bear he has been to me, a lion in ambush!
11 내가 길을 벗어나 내 몸이 굳어지게 하시고 나를 뻣뻣하게 만드셨네. 11 He deranged my ways, set me astray, left me desolate.
12 당신의 활을 당기시고 나를 화살 과녁으로 세우셨네. 12 He bent his bow, and set me up as the target for his arrow.
13 당신의 화살들로 나의 내장을 꿰뚫으셨네. 13 He pierces my sides with shafts from his quiver.
14 나는 온 백성의 웃음거리가 되고 날마다 그들에게 조롱의 노랫거리가 되었네. 14 I have become a laughingstock for all nations, their taunt all the day long;
15 그분께서 나를 쓴나물로 배불리시고 쓴흰쑥 물을 마시게 하셨네. 15 He has sated me with bitter food, made me drink my fill of wormwood.
16 내 이가 자갈을 씹어 부서지게 하시고 나를 땅에다 짓밟으셨네. 16 He has broken my teeth with gravel, pressed my face in the dust;
17 당신께서 이 몸을 평화 밖으로 내치시어 저는 행복을 잊었습니다. 17 My soul is deprived of peace, I have forgotten what happiness is;
18 그래서 나는 말하였네. “나의 영광과 주님께 걸었던 나의 기대는 사라져 버렸구나.” 18 I tell myself my future is lost, all that I hoped for from the LORD.
19 내 고통과 내 불안을 생각함은 쓴흰쑥과 독초와 같은데도 19 The thought of my homeless poverty is wormwood and gall;
20 내 영혼은 생각을 거듭하며 안에서 녹아 내리네. 20 Remembering it over and over leaves my soul downcast within me.
21 하지만 이것을 내 마음에 새겨 나는 희망하네. 21 But I will call this to mind, as my reason to have hope:
22 주님의 자애는 다함이 없고 그분의 자비는 끝이 없어 22 The favors of the LORD are not exhausted, his mercies are not spent;
23 아침마다 새롭다네. 당신의 신의는 크기도 합니다. 23 They are renewed each morning, so great is his faithfulness.
24 “주님은 나의 몫, 그래서 나 그분께 희망을 두네.” 하고 내 영혼이 말하네. 24 My portion is the LORD, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 당신을 바라는 이에게, 당신을 찾는 영혼에게 주님은 좋으신 분. 25 Good is the LORD to one who waits for him, to the soul that seeks him;
26 주님의 구원을 잠자코 기다림이 좋다네. 26 It is good to hope in silence for the saving help of the LORD.
27 젊은 시절에 멍에를 메는 것이 사나이에게 좋다네. 27 It is good for a man to bear the yoke from his youth.
28 그는 홀로 말없이 앉아 있어야 하니 그분께서 그에게 짐을 지우셨기 때문이네. 28 Let him sit alone and in silence, when it is laid upon him.
29 그는 제 입을 먼지 속에 박아야 하네. 어쩌면 희망이 있을지도 모르지. 29 Let him put his mouth to the dust; there may yet be hope.
30 그는 자신을 때리는 이에게 뺨을 내주며 수치를 가득히 받아야 하네. 30 Let him offer his cheek to be struck, let him be filled with disgrace.
31 주님께서는 마냥 버려두지 않으시네. 31 For the Lord's rejection does not last forever;
32 고통을 주셨다가도 당신의 크신 자애로 가엾이 여기시네. 32 Though he punishes, he takes pity, in the abundance of his mercies;
33 그분께서는 마음으로 사람들을 억누르지도 슬프게 하지도 않으시네. 33 He has no joy in afflicting or grieving the sons of men.
34 세상의 모든 수인들이 발아래 짓밟히는데 34 When anyone tramples underfoot all the prisoners in the land,
35 지극히 높으신 분의 면전에서 인간의 권리가 박탈당하는데 35 When he distorts men's rights in the very sight of the Most High,
36 송사에서 사람이 불의하게 다루어지는데 주님께서 보지 않으실 리 있으랴? 36 When he presses a crooked claim, the Lord does not look on unconcerned.
37 주님께서 명령하지 않으셨으면 누가 명령하여 이런 일이 일어났겠는가? 37 Who commands so that it comes to pass, except the Lord ordains it;
38 나쁜 것도 좋은 것도 지극히 높으신 분의 명령에 따라 일어나지 않는가? 38 Except it proceeds from the mouth of the Most High, whether the thing be good or bad!
39 그러니 살아 있는 인간이 무엇을 한탄하리오? 저마다 제 잘못을 한탄할 수밖에. 39 Why should any living man complain, any mortal, in the face of his sins?
40 우리의 길을 성찰하고 반성하여 주님께 돌아가세. 40 Let us search and examine our ways that we may return to the LORD!
41 손과 함께 우리의 마음도 하늘에 계신 하느님께 들어 올리세. 41 Let us reach out our hearts toward God in heaven!
42 저희는 거역하고 반항하였으며 당신께서는 용서하지 않으셨습니다. 42 We have sinned and rebelled; you have not forgiven us.
43 진노로 몸을 감싸고 저희를 뒤쫓아 오시어 사정없이 죽이셨습니다. 43 You veiled yourself in wrath and pursued us, you slew us and took no pity;
44 어떤 기도도 꿰뚫지 못하게 당신 자신을 구름으로 감싸셨습니다. 44 You wrapped yourself in a cloud which prayer could not pierce.
45 저희를 민족들 가운데에서 오물과 폐물로 만드셨습니다. 45 You have made us offscourings and refuse among the nations.
46 저희의 원수들은 모두 저희를 비웃고 46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us;
47 공포와 함정, 몰락과 파멸이 저희의 운명이 되었습니다. 47 Terror and the pit have been our lot, desolation and destruction;
48 저의 딸 백성의 파멸로 제 눈에서 눈물이 시내 되어 흘러내립니다. 48 My eyes run with streams of water over the downfall of the daughter of my people.
49 내 눈은 쉬지 않고 눈물을 흘리며 멈출 줄을 모르네, 49 My eyes flow without ceasing, there is no respite,
50 주님께서 하늘에서 굽어보실 때까지. 50 Till the LORD from heaven looks down and sees.
51 내 도성의 그 모든 딸들을 보아야 하는 내 눈이 나를 고통스럽게 하네. 51 My eyes torment my soul at the sight of all the daughters of my city.
52 까닭 없이 나의 원수가 된 자들이 나를 날짐승인 양 쫓고 또 쫓네. 52 Those who were my enemies without cause hunted me down like a bird;
53 내 생명을 구렁 속으로 처넣고 내 위에 돌을 내던졌네. 53 They struck me down alive in the pit, and sealed me in with a stone.
54 물이 내 머리 위로 넘쳐흘러 “나는 이제 끝났구나.” 하고 말하였네. 54 The waters flowed over my head, and I said, "I am lost!"
55 그 깊은 구렁 속에서 주님, 저는 당신의 이름을 불렀습니다. 55 I called upon your name, O LORD, from the bottom of the pit;
56 “제 탄원과 간청에 귀를 막지 마소서.” 하는 제 소리를 당신께서는 들으셨습니다. 56 You heard me call, "Let not your ear be deaf to my cry for help!"
57 제가 당신을 부르던 날 당신께서는 가까이 오시어 말씀하셨습니다. “두려워하지 마라.” 57 You came to my aid when I called to you; you said, "Have no fear!"
58 주님께서는 저의 송사를 맡으시어 제 생명을 구해 주셨습니다. 58 You defended me in mortal danger, you redeemed my life.
59 주님께서는 억압당하는 저를 보셨습니다. 저의 권리를 되찾아 주소서. 59 You see, O LORD, how I am wronged; do me justice!
60 당신께서는 그들의 모든 복수심과 저를 해치려는 그들의 모든 흉계를 보셨습니다. 60 You see all their vindictiveness, all their plots against me.
61 주님, 당신께서는 그들의 빈정거림을, 저를 해치려는 그들의 모든 흉계를 들으셨습니다. 61 You hear their insults, O LORD, (all their plots against me),
62 제 적대자들의 말과 쑥덕거림은 언제나 저를 해치려는 것일 뿐. 62 The whispered murmurings of my foes, against me all the day;
63 그들이 앉거나 서거나 지켜보소서. 저는 그들에게 조롱의 노랫거리가 되었습니다. 63 Whether they sit or stand, see, I am their taunt song.
64 주님, 당신께서는 그들에게 그 소행에 따라, 그들 손의 행실에 따라 되갚으시리이다. 64 Requite them as they deserve, O LORD, according to their deeds;
65 당신께서는 그들 마음을 완고하게 하시리이다. 그들 위에 당신의 저주를 내리소서. 65 Give them hardness of heart, as your curse upon them;
66 주님의 하늘 아래에서 당신께서는 진노하시어 그들을 뒤쫓아 없애 버리시리이다. 66 Pursue them in wrath and destroy them from under your heavens!
