이렇게 우리는 하느님의 자비를 입어 이 직분을 맡고 있으므로 낙심하지 않습니다.

▶ Therefore, since we have this ministry through the mercy shown us, we are not discouraged.
|
|
2
|
그리고 우리는 부끄러워 숨겨 두어야 할 것들을 버렸으며, 간교하게 행동하지도 않고 하느님의 말씀을 왜곡하지도 않습니다. 오히려 진리를 드러내어 하느님 면전에서 모든 사람의 양심 앞에 우리 자신을 내세웁니다.

▶ Rather, we have renounced shameful, hidden things; not acting deceitfully or falsifying the word of God, but by the open declaration of the truth we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.

우리의 복음이 가려져 있다 하여도 멸망할 자들에게만 가려져 있을 뿐입니다.

▶ And even though our gospel is veiled, it is veiled for those who are perishing,

그들의 경우, 이 세상의 신이 불신자들의 마음을 어둡게 하여, 하느님의 모상이신 그리스도의 영광을 선포하는 복음의 빛을 보지 못하게 한 것입니다.

▶ in whose case the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that they may not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

우리가 선포하는 것은 우리 자신이 아닙니다. 우리는 예수 그리스도를 주님으로 선포하고, 우리 자신은 예수님을 위한 여러분의 종으로 선포합니다.

▶ For we do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for the sake of Jesus.

“어둠 속에서 빛이 비추어라.” 하고 이르신 하느님께서 우리 마음을 비추시어, 예수 그리스도의 얼굴에 나타난 하느님의 영광을 알아보는 빛을 주셨습니다.

▶ For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to bring to light the knowledge of the glory of God on the face of (Jesus) Christ.

우리는 이 보물을 질그릇 속에 지니고 있습니다. 그 엄청난 힘은 하느님의 것으로, 우리에게서 나오는 힘이 아님을 보여 주시려는 것입니다.

▶ But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.

우리는 온갖 환난을 겪어도 억눌리지 않고, 난관에 부딪혀도 절망하지 않으며,

▶ We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair;

박해를 받아도 버림받지 않고, 맞아 쓰러져도 멸망하지 않습니다.

▶ persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed;

|
우리는 언제나 예수님의 죽음을 몸에 짊어지고 다닙니다. 우리 몸에서 예수님의 생명도 드러나게 하려는 것입니다.

▶ always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body.

우리는 살아 있으면서도 늘 예수님 때문에 죽음에 넘겨집니다. 우리의 죽을 육신에서 예수님의 생명도 드러나게 하려는 것입니다.

▶ For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

그리하여 우리에게서는 죽음이 약동하고 여러분에게서는 생명이 약동합니다.

▶ So death is at work in us, but life in you.

“나는 믿었다. 그러므로 말하였다.”고 성경에 기록되어 있습니다. 이와 똑같은 믿음의 영을 우리도 지니고 있으므로 “우리는 믿습니다. 그러므로 말합니다.”

주 예수님을 일으키신 분께서 우리도 예수님과 함께 일으키시어 여러분과 더불어 당신 앞에 세워 주시리라는 것을 알고 있기 때문입니다.

▶ knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and place us with you in his presence.

이 모든 것은 다 여러분을 위한 것입니다. 그리하여 은총이 점점 더 많은 사람에게 퍼져 나가 하느님의 영광을 위하여 감사하는 마음이 넘치게 하려는 것입니다.

▶ Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.

그러므로 우리는 낙심하지 않습니다. 우리의 외적 인간은 쇠퇴해 가더라도 우리의 내적 인간은 나날이 새로워집니다.

▶ Therefore, we are not discouraged; rather, although our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

우리가 지금 겪는 일시적이고 가벼운 환난이 그지없이 크고 영원한 영광을 우리에게 마련해 줍니다.

보이는 것이 아니라 보이지 않는 것을 우리가 바라보기 때문입니다. 보이는 것은 잠시뿐이지만 보이지 않는 것은 영원합니다.
