하느님께서 예전에는 예언자들을 통하여 여러 번에 걸쳐 여러 가지 방식으로 조상들에게 말씀하셨지만,

이 마지막 때에는 아드님을 통하여 우리에게 말씀하셨습니다. 하느님께서는 아드님을 만물의 상속자로 삼으셨을 뿐만 아니라, 그분을 통하여 온 세상을 만들기까지 하셨습니다.

아드님은 하느님 영광의 광채이시며 하느님 본질의 모상으로서, 만물을 당신의 강력한 말씀으로 지탱하십니다. 그분께서 죄를 깨끗이 없애신 다음, 하늘 높은 곳에 계신 존엄하신 분의 오른쪽에 앉으셨습니다.

하느님께서 천사들 가운데 그 누구에게 “너는 내 아들, 내가 오늘 너를 낳았노라.” 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까? 또 “나는 그의 아버지가 되고 그는 나의 아들이 되리라.” 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까?

▶ For to which of the angels did God ever say: "You are my son; this day I have begotten you"? Or again: "I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me"?

또 맏아드님을 저세상에 데리고 들어가실 때에는 "하느님의 천사들은 모두 그에게 경배하여라." 하고 말씀하십니다.

그리고 천사들과 관련해서는 “그는 자기의 천사들을 바람처럼 만들고 자기의 시종들을 타오르는 불처럼 만든다.” 하는 말씀이 있고,

아드님과 관련해서는 이런 말씀이 있습니다. “오, 하느님! 당신의 왕좌는 영원무궁하며 당신의 왕홀은 공정의 홀입니다.

▶ but of the Son: "Your throne, O God, stands forever and ever; and a righteous scepter is the scepter of your kingdom.

당신께서 정의를 사랑하시고 불의를 미워하시기에 하느님께서, 당신의 하느님께서 기쁨의 기름을 당신 동료들이 아니라 당신께 부어 주셨습니다.”

▶ You loved justice and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, anointed you with the oil of gladness above your companions";

또 이런 말씀이 있습니다. “주님, 당신께서는 태초에 땅을 세우셨습니다. 하늘도 당신 손의 작품입니다.

▶ and: "At the beginning, O Lord, you established the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands.

그것들은 사라져 가도 당신께서는 그대로 계십니다. 그것들은 다 옷처럼 낡을 것입니다.

▶ They will perish, but you remain; and they will all grow old like a garment.

|
당신께서는 그것들을 옷가지처럼 말아 치우시고 그것들은 옷처럼 변할 것입니다. 그러나 당신께서는 언제나 같으시고 당신의 햇수는 끝이 없을 것입니다.”

▶ You will roll them up like a cloak, and like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end."

하느님께서 천사들 가운데 그 누구에게 “내 오른쪽에 앉아라, 내가 너의 원수들을 네 발판으로 삼을 때까지.” 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까?

천사들은 모두 하느님을 시중드는 영으로서, 구원을 상속받게 될 이들에게 봉사하도록 파견되는 이들이 아닙니까?
