▶ He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him.

▶ He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him.

|
그분께서는 당신을 받아들이는 이들, 당신의 이름을 믿는 모든 이에게 하느님의 자녀가 되는 권한을 주셨다.

▶ But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name,

▶ And this is the testimony of John. When the Jews from Jerusalem sent priests and Levites (to him) to ask him, "Who are you?"

그들이 “그러면 누구란 말이오? 엘리야요?” 하고 묻자, 요한은 “아니다.” 하고 대답하였다. “그러면 그 예언자요?” 하고 물어도 다시 “아니다.” 하고 대답하였다.

▶ So they asked him, "What are you then? Are you Elijah?" And he said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" He answered, "No."

▶ The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus.

예수님께서 돌아서시어 그들이 따라오는 것을 보시고, “무엇을 찾느냐?” 하고 물으시자, 그들이 “라삐, 어디에 묵고 계십니까?” 하고 말하였다. ‘라삐’는 번역하면 ‘스승님’이라는 말이다.

▶ Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus.

▶ He first found his own brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah".

그가 시몬을 예수님께 데려가자, 예수님께서 시몬을 눈여겨보며 이르셨다. “너는 요한의 아들 시몬이구나. 앞으로 너는 케파라고 불릴 것이다.” ‘케파’는 ‘베드로’라고 번역되는 말이다.

▶ Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the prophets, Jesus, son of Joseph, from Nazareth."
