▶ Any animal that has hoofs you may eat, provided it is cloven-footed and chews the cud.

그러나 새김질하거나 굽이 갈라졌더라도 이런 것들은 먹어서는 안 된다. 낙타와 토끼와 오소리는 새김질은 하지만 굽이 갈라지지 않았으므로 너희에게 부정한 것이다.

|
너희는 저절로 죽은 것은 아무것도 먹어서는 안 된다. 너희는 그것을 너희 성안에 있는 이방인에게 먹으라고 주거나, 외국인에게 팔아야 한다. 너희는 주 너희 하느님의 거룩한 백성이기 때문이다. 너희는 새끼 염소를 그 어미의 젖에 삶아서는 안 된다.”

너희는 주 너희 하느님께서 당신의 이름을 머무르게 하시려고 선택하시는 곳에서, 너희의 곡식과 포도주와 기름의 십분의 일을, 그리고 너희의 소와 양의 맏배를 그분 앞에서 먹어야 한다. 그러면 너희가 언제나 주 너희 하느님을 경외하는 법을 배울 수 있을 것이다.

▶ then in the place which the LORD, your God, chooses as the dwelling place of his name you shall eat in his presence your tithe of the grain, wine and oil, as well as the firstlings of your herd and flock, that you may learn always to fear the LORD, your God.

▶ you may exchange the tithe for money and, with the purse of money in hand, go to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses.

거기에서 너희가 원하는 것은 무엇이든지, 소나 양, 포도주나 독주, 그리고 마음에 드는 것은 무엇이든지 돈을 주고 사서, 주 너희 하느님 앞에서 먹으며, 너희와 너희의 온 집안이 기뻐해야 한다.

▶ You may then exchange the money for whatever you desire, oxen or sheep, wine or strong drink, or anything else you would enjoy, and there before the LORD, your God, you shall partake of it and make merry with your family.
