다윗이 이스라엘의 모든 지도자, 곧 각 지파의 지도자, 임금을 섬기는 각 조의 장수, 천인대장들과 백인대장들, 임금의 모든 재산과 가축을 돌보는 관리인들, 왕자들과 함께 내시들과 용사들, 그리고 그 밖의 모든 힘센 용사를 예루살렘으로 불러들였다.

▶ David assembled at Jerusalem all the leaders of Israel, the heads of the tribes, the commanders of the divisions who were in the service of the king, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, the overseers of all the king's estates and possessions, and his sons, together with the courtiers, the warriors, and every important man.
|

그런 다음에 다윗 임금은 일어서서 이렇게 말하였다. “나의 형제와 백성 여러분, 내 말을 들으시오. 나는 주님의 계약 궤, 곧 우리 하느님의 발판을 모실 집을 짓겠다는 마음을 품고, 건축 준비를 해 왔소.

▶ King David rose to his feet and said: "Hear me, my brethren and my people. It was my purpose to build a house of repose myself for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, the footstool for the feet of our God; and I was preparing to build it.

그러나 하느님께서는 나에게 '너는 전사였고 사람의 피를 많이 흘렸기 때문에 내 이름을 위한 집을 짓지 못한다.' 하고 말씀하셨소.

▶ But God said to me, 'You may not build a house in my honor, for you are a man who fought wars and shed blood.'

|
그러나 이미 주 이스라엘의 하느님께서는 내 아버지의 온 집안에서 나를 선택하시어, 영원히 이스라엘의 임금이 되게 하셨소. 주님께서는 유다를 영도자로 뽑으신 다음, 유다 집안에서 내 아버지의 집안을, 내 아버지의 아들들 가운데에서는 나를 좋아하시어 온 이스라엘의 임금으로 세우신 것이오.

▶ However, the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me from all my father's family to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, then one family of Judah, that of my father; and finally, among all the sons of my father, it pleased him to make me king over all Israel.

주님께서는 또 나에게 많은 아들을 주셨는데, 그 모든 아들 가운데에서 내 아들 솔로몬을 선택하시어, 주님 나라의 왕좌에 앉아 이스라엘을 다스리게 하셨소.

▶ And of all my sons - for the LORD has given me many sons - he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the LORD'S royal throne over Israel.

그리고 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨소. ‘네 아들 솔로몬이 나의 집을 짓고 나의 뜰을 만들 것이다. 내가 정녕 그를 선택하여 내 아들로 삼겠다. 내가 그의 아버지가 되어 주겠다.

▶ For he said to me: 'It is your son Solomon who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him for my son, and I will be a father to him.

|
그가 지금처럼 나의 계명과 법규를 굳게 지키면, 나는 그의 나라를 영원히 튼튼하게 해 주겠다.’

|
|
|
|
▶ I will establish his kingdom forever, if he perseveres in keeping my commandments and decrees as he keeps them now.'
|

|
이제 여러분은 온 이스라엘, 곧 주님의 회중이 보고 우리 하느님께서 들으시는 가운데, 주 여러분의 하느님의 모든 계명을 지키고 탐구하시오. 그래야 여러분이 이 좋은 땅을 차지하고 그것을 여러분의 다음 자손들에게 영원히 상속할 수 있을 것이오.”

▶ Therefore, in the presence of all Israel, the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God, I exhort you to keep and to carry out all the commandments of the LORD, your God, that you may continue to possess this good land and afterward leave it as an inheritance to your children forever.

“내 아들 솔로몬아, 너는 네 아버지의 하느님을 바로 알고, 한결같은 마음과 기꺼운 마음으로 그분을 섬겨라. 주님께서는 모든 마음을 살피시고 모든 생각을 꿰뚫어 보신다. 네가 그분을 찾으면 그분께서 너를 만나 주시고, 네가 그분을 버리면 너를 영영 저버리실 것이다.

▶ "As for you, Solomon, my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing soul, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the mind's thoughts. If you seek him, he will let himself be found by you; but if you abandon him, he will cast you off forever.

|
자, 보아라. 주님께서는 이제 성소로 쓰일 집을 지으라고 너를 선택하셨다. 힘을 내어 일을 해 나가라.”

▶ See, then! The LORD has chosen you to build a house as his sanctuary. Take courage and set to work."

|
그러고 나서 다윗은 현관과 거기에 이어지는 건물과 창고와 옥상 방과 안쪽 방들과 속죄소의 모형을 아들 솔로몬에게 주었다.

▶ Then David gave to his son Solomon the pattern of the portico and of the building itself, with its storerooms, its upper rooms and inner chambers, and the room with the propitiatory.

|
그 밖에 마음에 떠오른 모든 것의 모형도 주었다. 그 모형은 주님의 집 뜰과 둘레의 모든 방, 하느님의 집 창고와 성물 창고에 관한 것이었다.

▶ He provided also the pattern for all else that he had in mind by way of courts for the house of the LORD, with the surrounding compartments for the stores for the house of God and the stores of the votive offerings,

|
또 사제와 레위인들의 조, 주님의 집에서 예배드리는 모든 일, 주님의 집에서 드리는 예배에 쓸 모든 기물에 관해서도 알려 주었다.

|
|
▶ as well as for the divisions of the priests and Levites, for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the liturgical vessels of the house of the LORD.

또 각 예배에 쓸 온갖 금 기물을 만드는 데에 필요한 금의 무게와, 각 예배에 쓸 온갖 은 기물을 만드는 데에 필요한 은의 무게,

▶ He specified the weight of gold to be used in the golden vessels for the various services and the weight of silver to be used in the silver vessels for the various services;

|
금 등잔대들과 금 등잔들의 무게, 각 등잔대와 그 등잔들을 만드는 데에 필요한 금의 무게, 그리고 은 등잔대들에 대해서도 마찬가지로, 그 등잔대들과 등잔들을 만드는 데에 필요한 은의 무게를, 각 등잔대의 용도에 따라 알려 주었다.

▶ likewise for the golden lampstands and their lamps he specified the weight of gold for each lampstand and its lamps, and for the silver lampstands he specified the weight of silver for each lampstand and its lamps, depending on the use to which each lampstand was to be put.

빵을 차려 놓는 제사상들도 그 하나하나를 만드는 데에 필요한 금의 무게와, 은 제사상들을 만드는 데에 필요한 은의 무게를 알려 주었다.

▶ He specified the weight of gold for each table to hold the showbread, and the silver for the silver tables;

또 갈고리와 쟁반과 잔을 만드는 데에 필요한 순금에 대해서도 알려 주고, 금 대접들도 각 대접의 무게대로, 은 대접들도 각 대접의 무게대로 알려 주었다.

▶ the pure gold to be used for the forks and pitchers; the amount of gold for each golden bowl and the silver for each silver bowl;

그리고 분향 제단을 만드는 데에 필요한 정련된 금의 무게를 알려 주고, 날개를 펴서 주님의 계약 궤를 덮을 금 커룹들의 수레 모형도 주었다.

▶ the refined gold, and its weight, to be used for the altar of incense; and, finally, gold for what would suggest a chariot throne: the cherubim that spread their wings and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

“이 모든 것은 주님의 손으로 쓰인 기록에 들어 있다. 그분께서는 나에게 이 모형의 온갖 세부 사항을 분명히 알려 주셨다.”

▶ He had successfully committed to writing the exact specifications of the pattern, because the hand of the LORD was upon him.

|
그러고 나서 다윗은 아들 솔로몬에게 말하였다. “힘과 용기를 내어 일을 해 나가라. 두려워하지도 말고 당황하지도 마라. 주 하느님이신 나의 하느님께서 너와 함께 계실 것이다. 그분께서는 주님의 집에서 예배하는 데에 필요한 모든 일을 마칠 때까지, 너를 떠나지도 버리지도 않으실 것이다.

▶ Then David said to his son Solomon: "Be firm and steadfast; go to work without fear or discouragement, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or abandon you before you have completed all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

더구나 하느님의 집에서 드리는 예배에 관한 모든 일을 하려고 사제들과 레위인들의 각 조가 대기하고 있다. 또 무슨 일을 하건 온갖 일에 솜씨 좋은 지원자들이 모두 너를 기꺼이 도울 것이며, 지도자들과 온 백성이 너의 말대로 할 것이다.”

▶ The classes of the priests and Levites are ready for all the service of the house of God; they will help you in all your work with all those who are eager to show their skill in every kind of craftsmanship. Also the leaders and all the people will do everything that you command."
