|
After David had taken counsel with his commanders of thousands and of hundreds, that is to say, with every one of his leaders,
|

▶ 다윗은 천인대장과 백인대장을 비롯한 모든 지도자와 의논하고,
|
|

|
he said to the whole assembly of Israel: "If it seems good to you, and is so decreed by the LORD our God, let us summon the rest of our brethren from all the districts of Israel, and also the priests and the Levites from their cities with pasture lands, that they may join us;

▶ 이스라엘 온 회중에게 말하였다. “여러분이 좋다면, 그리고 주 우리 하느님의 뜻이라면, 이스라엘 온 땅에 남아 있는 우리 형제들과, 목초지가 있는 성읍들에서 그들과 함께 사는 사제들과 레위인들에게도 사람들을 보내어 우리에게 모여 오라고 합시다.

and let us bring the ark of our God here among us, for in the days of Saul we did not visit it."

▶ 그런 다음에 우리 하느님의 궤를 도로 모셔 옵시다. 사실 사울 시대에는 우리가 그 궤를 찾지 않았습니다.”

And the whole assembly agreed to do this, for the idea was pleasing to all the people.

▶ 온 백성이 보기에 이 일이 옳았으므로 회중은 모두 그렇게 하자고 하였다.

Then David assembled all Israel, from Shihor of Egypt to Labo of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.

▶ 다윗은 하느님의 궤를 키르얏 여아림에서 옮겨 오려고, 이집트 시호르에서 하맛 어귀에 이르기까지 온 이스라엘을 불러 모았다.

David and all Israel went up to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath-jearim, of Judah, to bring back the ark of God, which was known by the name "LORD enthroned upon the cherubim."

▶ 다윗과 온 이스라엘이 커룹들 위에 좌정하신 주 하느님의 궤를 모셔 오려고, 바알라 곧 유다의 키르얏 여아림으로 올라갔다. 그 궤는 주님의 이름으로 불렸다.

They transported the ark of God on a new cart from the house of Abinadab; Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the cart,

|
▶ 그들은 하느님의 궤를 새 수레에 싣고 아비나답의 집에서 내갔다. 우짜와 아흐요가 그 수레를 몰았다.

while David and all Israel danced before God with great enthusiasm, amid songs and music on lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

|
▶ 다윗과 온 이스라엘은 비파와 수금과 손북과 자바라와 나팔 소리에 맞추어 노래하며, 하느님 앞에서 온 힘을 다하여 춤을 추었다.

As they reached the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzzah stretched out his hand to steady the ark, for the oxen were upsetting it.

|
▶ 그들이 키돈의 타작마당에 이르렀을 때였다. 소들이 비틀거리는 바람에 우짜가 손을 뻗어 궤를 붙들었다.

|
Then the LORD became angry with Uzzah and struck him; he died there in God's presence, because he had laid his hand on the ark.

|
|
▶ 그러자 우짜를 향하여 주님의 분노가 타올랐다. 우짜가 궤에 손을 뻗었으므로 그분께서 그를 치시니, 그는 거기 하느님 앞에서 죽었다.

David was disturbed because the LORD'S anger had broken out against Uzzah. Therefore that place has been called Perez-uzza even to this day.
|

|
|
▶ 다윗은 주님께서 우짜를 그렇게 내리치신 일 때문에 화가 났다. 그래서 그는 그곳을 페레츠 우짜라고 하였는데, 그곳이 오늘날까지 그렇게 불린다.

David was now afraid of God, and he said, "How can I bring the ark of God with me?"

▶ 그날 다윗은 하느님을 두려워하며 말하였다. “이래서야 어떻게 하느님의 궤를 내가 있는 곳으로 옮겨 갈 수 있겠는가?”

|
Therefore he did not take the ark back with him to the City of David, but he took it instead to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

▶ 그래서 다윗은 그 궤를 자기가 있는 다윗 성으로 가져가지 않고, 갓 사람 오벳 에돔의 집으로 옮겼다.

|
The ark of God remained in the house of Obed-edom with his family for three months, and the LORD blessed Obed-edom's household and all that he possessed.

|
▶ 하느님의 궤가 그 집에서 오벳 에돔의 집안 사람들과 함께 석 달을 머무르는 동안, 주님께서는 오벳 에돔의 집안과 그에게 딸린 모든 것 위에 복을 내리셨다.
