|
바로 그때에 어떤 사람들이 와서, 빌라도가 갈릴래아 사람들을 죽여 그들이 바치려던 제물을 피로 물들게 한 일을 예수님께 알렸다.

▶ At that time some people who were present there told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices.

그러자 예수님께서 그들에게 이르셨다. “너희는 그 갈릴래아 사람들이 그러한 변을 당하였다고 해서 다른 모든 갈릴래아 사람보다 더 큰 죄인이라고 생각하느냐?

▶ He said to them in reply, "Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were greater sinners than all other Galileans?

아니다. 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희도 회개하지 않으면 모두 그처럼 멸망할 것이다.

|
▶ By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!
|

|
또 실로암에 있던 탑이 무너지면서 깔려 죽은 그 열여덟 사람, 너희는 그들이 예루살렘에 사는 다른 모든 사람보다 더 큰 잘못을 하였다고 생각하느냐?

▶ Or those eighteen people who were killed when the tower at Siloam fell on them - do you think they were more guilty than everyone else who lived in Jerusalem?

아니다. 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희도 회개하지 않으면 모두 그렇게 멸망할 것이다.”

▶ By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!"

예수님께서 이러한 비유를 말씀하셨다. “어떤 사람이 자기 포도밭에 무화과나무 한 그루를 심어 놓았다. 그리고 나중에 가서 그 나무에 열매가 달렸나 하고 찾아보았지만 하나도 찾지 못하였다.

▶ And he told them this parable: "There once was a person who had a fig tree planted in his orchard, and when he came in search of fruit on it but found none,

그래서 포도 재배인에게 일렀다. ‘보게, 내가 삼 년째 와서 이 무화과나무에 열매가 달렸나 하고 찾아보지만 하나도 찾지 못하네. 그러니 이것을 잘라 버리게. 땅만 버릴 이유가 없지 않은가?’

▶ he said to the gardener, 'For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this fig tree but have found none. So cut it down. Why should it exhaust the soil?'

그러자 포도 재배인이 그에게 대답하였다. ‘주인님, 이 나무를 올해만 그냥 두시지요. 그동안에 제가 그 둘레를 파서 거름을 주겠습니다.

▶ He said to him in reply, 'Sir, leave it for this year also, and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it;

|
그러면 내년에는 열매를 맺겠지요. 그러지 않으면 잘라 버리십시오.’”

|
|
|
|
▶ it may bear fruit in the future. If not you can cut it down.'"

예수님께서 안식일에 어떤 회당에서 가르치고 계셨다.

▶ He was teaching in a synagogue on the sabbath.

|

|
마침 그곳에 열여덟 해 동안이나 병마에 시달리는 여자가 있었다. 그는 허리가 굽어 몸을 조금도 펼 수가 없었다.

|
|
|
|
|
▶ And a woman was there who for eighteen years had been crippled by a spirit; she was bent over, completely incapable of standing erect.
|

|
예수님께서는 그 여자를 보시고 가까이 부르시어, “여인아, 너는 병에서 풀려났다.” 하시고,

▶ When Jesus saw her, he called to her and said, "Woman, you are set free of your infirmity."

|
그 여자에게 손을 얹으셨다. 그러자 그 여자가 즉시 똑바로 일어서서 하느님을 찬양하였다.

|
|
|
▶ He laid his hands on her, and she at once stood up straight and glorified God.
|
|

|
그런데 회당장은 예수님께서 안식일에 병을 고쳐 주셨으므로 분개하여 군중에게 말하였다. “일하는 날이 엿새나 있습니다. 그러니 그 엿새 동안에 와서 치료를 받으십시오. 안식일에는 안 됩니다.”

▶ But the leader of the synagogue, indignant that Jesus had cured on the sabbath, said to the crowd in reply, "There are six days when work should be done. Come on those days to be cured, not on the sabbath day."

그러자 주님께서 그에게 이르셨다. “위선자들아, 너희는 저마다 안식일에도 자기 소나 나귀를 구유에서 풀어 물을 먹이러 끌고 가지 않느냐?

▶ The Lord said to him in reply, "Hypocrites! Does not each one of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his ass from the manger and lead it out for watering?
|

|
그렇다면 아브라함의 딸인 이 여자를 사탄이 무려 열여덟 해 동안이나 묶어 놓았는데, 안식일일지라도 그 속박에서 풀어 주어야 하지 않느냐?”

|
▶ This daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for eighteen years now, ought she not to have been set free on the sabbath day from this bondage?"

|
예수님께서 이렇게 말씀하시니 그분의 적대자들은 모두 망신을 당하였다. 그러나 군중은 모두 그분께서 하신 그 모든 영광스러운 일을 두고 기뻐하였다.

▶ "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough.

집주인이 일어나 문을 닫아 버리면, 너희가 밖에 서서 ‘주님, 문을 열어 주십시오.’ 하며 문을 두드리기 시작하여도, 그는 ‘너희가 어디에서 온 사람들인지 나는 모른다.’ 하고 대답할 것이다.

▶ After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door, then will you stand outside knocking and saying, 'Lord, open the door for us.' He will say to you in reply, 'I do not know where you are from.'

그러면 너희는 이렇게 말하기 시작할 것이다. ‘저희는 주님 앞에서 먹고 마셨고, 주님께서는 저희가 사는 길거리에서 가르치셨습니다.’

▶ And you will say, 'We ate and drank in your company and you taught in our streets.'

그러나 집주인은 ‘너희가 어디에서 온 사람들인지 나는 모른다. 모두 내게서 물러가라, 불의를 일삼는 자들아!’ 하고 너희에게 말할 것이다.

▶ Then he will say to you, 'I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers!'

|
너희는 아브라함과 이사악과 야곱과 모든 예언자가 하느님의 나라 안에 있는데 너희만 밖으로 쫓겨나 있는 것을 보게 되면, 거기에서 울며 이를 갈 것이다.

▶ And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves cast out.

그러나 동쪽과 서쪽, 북쪽과 남쪽에서 사람들이 와 하느님 나라의 잔칫상에 자리 잡을 것이다.

▶ And people will come from the east and the west and from the north and the south and will recline at table in the kingdom of God.

|
보라, 지금은 꼴찌지만 첫째가 되는 이들이 있고, 지금은 첫째지만 꼴찌가 되는 이들이 있을 것이다.”

▶ For behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last."

▶ At that time some Pharisees came to him and said, "Go away, leave this area because Herod wants to kill you."

그러자 예수님께서 그들에게 이르셨다. “가서 그 여우에게 이렇게 전하여라. ‘보라, 오늘과 내일은 내가 마귀들을 쫓아내며 병을 고쳐 주고, 사흘째 되는 날에는 내 일을 마친다.

▶ He replied, "Go and tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose.

그러나 오늘도 내일도 그다음 날도 내 길을 계속 가야 한다. 예언자는 예루살렘이 아닌 다른 곳에서 죽을 수 없기 때문이다.’”

▶ Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day, for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.'

보라, 너희 집은 버려질 것이다. 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희가 ‘주님의 이름으로 오시는 분은 복되시어라.’ 하고 말할 날이 올 때까지, 정녕 나를 보지 못할 것이다.”

▶ Behold, your house will be abandoned. But I tell you, you will not see me until the time comes when you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
