▶ The LORD spoke to Moses and said,

“이스라엘 자손들 가운데에서 맏아들, 곧 태를 맨 먼저 열고 나온 첫아들은 모두 나에게 봉헌하여라. 사람뿐 아니라 짐승의 맏배도 나의 것이다.”

▶ "Consecrate to me every first-born that opens the womb among the Israelites, both of man and beast, for it belongs to me."

누룩 없는 빵에 관한 세칙
|

|
|
|
|
|

|
모세가 백성에게 말하였다. “너희는 이집트에서, 곧 종살이하던 집에서 나온 이날을 기억하여라. 주님께서 강한 손으로 너희를 그곳에서 이끌어 내셨기 때문이다. 이날 누룩 든 빵을 먹어서는 안 된다.

▶ Moses said to the people, "Remember this day on which you came out of Egypt, that place of slavery. It was with a strong hand that the LORD brought you away. Nothing made with leaven must be eaten.

너희는 아빕 달 바로 오늘 나왔다.

▶ This day of your departure is in the month of Abib.

|
주님께서 너희에게 주시겠다고 너희 조상들에게 맹세하신 대로, 가나안족과 히타이트족과 아모리족과 히위족과 여부스족의 땅, 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅으로 너희를 데려가시거든, 이달에 이러한 예식을 올려야 한다.

▶ Therefore, it is in this month that you must celebrate this rite, after the LORD, your God, has brought you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites and Jebusites, which he swore to your fathers he would give you, a land flowing with milk and honey.

너희는 이레 동안 누룩 없는 빵을 먹고, 이렛날에는 주님을 위하여 축제를 지내야 한다.

▶ For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and the seventh day shall also be a festival to the LORD.

|
이레 동안 누룩 없는 빵을 먹어야 한다. 그동안 너희 영토 어느 곳에서든 누룩 든 빵이 보여서도 안 되고, 누룩이 보여서도 안 된다.

▶ Only unleavened bread may be eaten during the seven days; no leaven and nothing leavened may be found in all your territory.

그날 너희는 너희 아들에게, ‘이것은 내가 이집트에서 나올 때, 주님께서 나를 위하여 하신 일 때문이란다.’ 하고 설명해 주어라.

▶ On this day you shall explain to your son, 'This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.'

이것을 너희는 너희 손에 감은 표징과 너희 이마에 붙인 기념의 표지로 여겨, 주님의 가르침을 되뇔 수 있게 하여라. 주님께서 강한 손으로 너희를 이집트에서 이끌어 내셨기 때문이다.

▶ It shall be as a sign on your hand and as a reminder on your forehead; thus the law of the LORD will ever be on your lips, because with a strong hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.

너희는 이 규칙을 해마다 정해진 때에 지켜야 한다.”

▶ Therefore, you shall keep this prescribed rite at its appointed time from year to year.

“주님께서 너희와 너희 조상들에게 맹세하신 대로, 너희를 가나안족의 땅으로 데려가셔서 그 땅을 너희에게 주시면,

▶ "When the LORD, your God, has brought you into the land of the Canaanites, which he swore to you and your fathers he would give you,

|
너희는 태를 맨 먼저 열고 나온 것을 모두 주님께 바쳐야 한다. 너희 가축이 처음 낳은 것으로 수컷은 모두 주님의 것이다.

|
▶ you shall dedicate to the LORD every son that opens the womb; and all the male firstlings of your animals shall belong to the LORD.
|

|
그러나 나귀의 첫 새끼는 양으로 대속해야 한다. 대속하지 않으려면 그 목을 꺾어야 한다. 너희 자식들 가운데 맏아들은 모두 대속해야 한다.

|
|
|
▶ Every first-born of an ass you shall redeem with a sheep. If you do not redeem it, you shall break its neck. Every first-born son you must redeem.
|

|
뒷날, 너희 아들이 ‘왜 그렇게 하십니까?’ 하고 물으면, 이렇게 대답하여라. ‘주님께서 강한 손으로 이집트에서, 곧 종살이하던 집에서 우리를 이끌어 내셨다.

▶ If your son should ask you later on, 'What does this mean?' you shall tell him, 'With a strong hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, that place of slavery.

|
그때 파라오가 우리를 내보내지 않으려고 고집을 부렸으므로, 주님께서 사람의 맏아들부터 짐승의 맏배까지 이집트 땅에서 처음 난 것을 모조리 죽이셨다. 그래서 나는 태를 맨 먼저 열고 나온 수컷을 모두 주님께 바친다. 그러나 아들들 가운데에서 맏아들은 모두 대속하는 것이다.

▶ When Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every first-born in the land of Egypt, every first-born of man and of beast. That is why I sacrifice to the LORD everything of the male sex that opens the womb, and why I redeem every first-born of my sons.'

이것을 네 손에 감은 표징과 네 이마에 붙인 표지로 여겨라. 주님께서 강한 손으로 우리를 이집트에서 이끌어 내셨기 때문이다.’”

파라오가 이스라엘 백성을 내보낼 때, 하느님께서는 필리스티아인들의 땅을 지나는 길이 가장 가까운데도, 그들을 그곳으로 인도하지 않으셨다. 하느님께서 ‘그들이 닥쳐올 전쟁을 내다보고는 마음을 바꾸어 이집트로 되돌아가서는 안 되지.’ 하고 생각하셨던 것이다.

▶ Now, when Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the Philistines' land, though this was the nearest; for he thought, should the people see that they would have to fight, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.

그래서 하느님께서는 백성을 갈대 바다에 이르는 광야 길로 돌아가게 하셨다. 이스라엘 자손들은 전열을 갖추고 이집트 땅에서 올라갔다.

▶ Instead, he rerouted them toward the Red Sea by way of the desert road. In battle array the Israelites marched out of Egypt.

|
모세는 요셉의 유골을 가지고 나왔다. 요셉이 “하느님께서 반드시 여러분을 찾아오실 것입니다. 그때 여기서 내 유골을 가지고 올라가십시오.” 하며 이스라엘 자손들에게 엄숙히 맹세하게 하였기 때문이다.

▶ Moses also took Joseph's bones along, for Joseph had made the Israelites swear solemnly that, when God should come to them, they would carry his bones away with them.

▶ Setting out from Succoth, they camped at Etham near the edge of the desert.

주님께서는 그들이 밤낮으로 행진할 수 있도록 그들 앞에 서서 가시며, 낮에는 구름 기둥 속에서 길을 인도하시고, 밤에는 불기둥 속에서 그들을 비추어 주셨다.

▶ The LORD preceded them, in the daytime by means of a column of cloud to show them the way, and at night by means of a column of fire to give them light. Thus they could travel both day and night.

낮에는 구름 기둥이, 밤에는 불기둥이 백성 앞을 떠나지 않았다.

▶ Neither the column of cloud by day nor the column of fire by night ever left its place in front of the people.
