In view of all this, we are entering into a firm pact, which we are putting into writing. On the sealed document appear the names of our princes, our Levites, and our priests.

The rest of the people, priests, Levites, gatekeepers, singers, temple slaves, and all others who have separated themselves from the peoples of the lands in favor of the law of God, with their wives, their sons, their daughters, all who are of the age of discretion,

join with their brethren who are their princes, and with the sanction of a curse take this oath to follow the law of God which was given through Moses, the servant of God, and to observe carefully all the commandments of the LORD, our LORD, his ordinances and his statutes.

▶ 유력자인 저희 형제들을 지지하였다. 그래서 그들은 하느님의 종 모세를 통하여 주어진 하느님의 율법에 따라 걷고, 주 우리 하느님의 모든 계명과 그분의 법규들과 규정들을 지키고 실천하며, 어기면 저주를 받겠다고 맹세하였다.

Agreed, that we will not marry our daughters to the peoples of the land, and that we will not take their daughters for our sons.

When the peoples of the land bring in merchandise or any kind of grain for sale on the sabbath day, we will not buy from them on the sabbath or on any other holyday. We will forgo the seventh year, as well as every kind of debt.

We impose these commandments on ourselves: to give a third of a shekel each year for the service of the house of our God,

for the showbread, for the daily cereal offering, for the daily holocaust, for the sabbaths, new moons, and festivals, for the holy offerings, for sin offerings to make atonement for Israel, and for every service of the house of our God.

▶ 이는 두 줄로 차려 놓는 빵, 일일 곡식 제물, 일일 번제물, 안식일 제물, 초하룻날 제물, 축일 제물, 거룩한 예물, 이스라엘을 위하여 속죄 예식을 거행하는 속죄 예물, 그리고 우리 하느님의 집에서 하는 모든 일을 위한 것이다.”

|
We, priests, Levites, and people, have determined by lot concerning the procurement of wood: it is to be brought to the house of our God by each of our family houses at stated times each year, to be burnt on the altar of the LORD, our God, as the law prescribes.

▶ 사제, 레위인, 백성 구별 없이 우리는 집안별로 제비를 뽑아, 해마다 정해진 때에 우리 하느님의 집에 장작을 봉헌할 순서를 결정하였다. 이는 율법에 쓰인 대로, 주 우리 하느님의 제단 위에서 사를 장작이다.

We have agreed to bring each year to the house of the LORD the first fruits of our fields and of our fruit trees, of whatever kind;

also, as is prescribed in the law, to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who serve in the house of our God, the first-born of our children and our animals, including the first-born of our flocks and herds.

▶ 율법에 쓰인 대로, 우리의 맏아들과 짐승의 맏배, 곧 큰 가축과 작은 가축의 맏배를 우리 하느님의 집에, 우리 하느님의 집에서 봉직하는 사제들에게 바치기로 하였다.

|
The first batch of our dough, and our offerings of the fruit of every tree, of wine and of oil, we will bring to the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God. The tithe of our fields we will bring to the Levites; they, the Levites, shall take the tithe in all the cities of our service.

▶ 우리는 또 반죽과 들어 올려 바치는 예물, 모든 나무 열매, 햇포도주와 햇기름의 맏물을 우리 하느님 집의 여러 방으로 가져가서 사제들에게 바치고, 우리 밭에서 나는 소출 가운데 십분의 일을 레위인들에게 바친다. 우리가 농사를 짓는 성읍마다 돌아다니며 십일조를 거두는 이들이 바로 레위인들이다.

An Aaronite priest shall be with the Levites when they take the tithe, and the Levites shall bring the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the chambers of the treasury.

▶ 레위인들이 십일조를 거둘 때, 아론의 자손 사제 한 사람이 그들과 함께 다닌다. 레위인들은 거두어들인 십일조에서 다시 십일조를 떼어 우리 하느님의 집으로, 창고의 여러 방으로 가지고 올라간다.

|
For to these chambers the Israelites and Levites bring the offerings of grain, wine, and oil; there also are housed the utensils of the sanctuary, and the ministering priests, the gatekeepers, and the singers. We will not neglect the house of our God.

▶ 그 방들은 이스라엘 자손들과 레위의 자손들이 곡식과 햇포도주와 햇기름 예물을 가져다 놓는 곳이다. 또 그곳에는 성소의 기물들을 두기도 하고, 당번 사제들과 문지기들과 성가대가 머무르기도 한다. 이렇게 우리는 우리 하느님의 집을 그냥 버려두지 않을 것이다.
