Then he led me to the gate which faces the east,
|

▶ 그가 나를 대문으로, 동쪽으로 난 대문으로 데리고 나갔다.
|
|

|
and there I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. I heard a sound like the roaring of many waters, and the earth shone with his glory.
|

|
|
|
▶ 그런데 보라, 이스라엘 하느님의 영광이 동쪽에서 오는 것이었다. 그 소리는 큰 물이 밀려오는 소리 같았고, 땅은 그분의 영광으로 빛났다.

The vision was like that which I had seen when he came to destroy the city, and like that which I had seen by the river Chebar. I fell prone

▶ 그 모습은 내가 본 환시, 곧 그분께서 이 도성을 파멸시키러 오실 때에 내가 본 환시와 같았고, 또 그 모습은 내가 크바르 강 가에서 본 환시와 같았다. 그래서 나는 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드렸다.

as the glory of the LORD entered the temple by way of the gate which faces the east,

▶ 그러자 주님의 영광이 동쪽으로 난 문을 지나 주님의 집으로 들어갔다.
|

|
but spirit lifted me up and brought me to the inner court. And I saw that the temple was filled with the glory of the LORD.
|

|
|
▶ 그때 영이 나를 들어 올려 안뜰로 데리고 가셨는데, 주님의 집이 주님의 영광으로 가득 차 있었다.

Then I heard someone speaking to me from the temple, while the man stood beside me.

|
▶ 그 사람이 내 곁에 서 있는데, 주님의 집에서 나에게 말씀하시는 소리가 들렸다.
|
|

|
The voice said to me: Son of man, this is where my throne shall be, this is where I will set the soles of my feet; here I will dwell among the Israelites forever. Never again shall they and their kings profane my holy name with their harlotries and with the corpses of their kings (their high places).
|

▶ 나에게 이렇게 말씀하시는 것이었다. “사람의 아들아, 이곳은 내 어좌의 자리, 내 발바닥이 놓이는 자리다. 내가 이스라엘 자손들 가운데에서 영원히 살 곳이다. 다시는 이스라엘 집안이 나의 거룩한 이름을 부정하게 만들지 않을 것이다. 그들이나 그 임금들이 불륜을 저질러, 또 임금들이 죽었을 때 그 주검으로, 나의 거룩한 이름을 부정하게 만들지 않을 것이다.

When they placed their threshold against my threshold and their doorpost next to mine, so that only a wall was between us, they profaned my holy name by their abominable deeds; therefore I consumed them in my wrath.

▶ 그들은 자기들의 문지방을 내 문지방 옆에 놓고, 자기들의 문설주를 내 문설주 옆에 놓아, 나와 자기들 사이에 벽 하나밖에 없도록 만들었다. 그들은 이렇게 역겨운 짓들을 저질러 나의 거룩한 이름을 부정하게 만들었다. 그래서 내가 분노하여 그들을 멸망시켜 버렸다.

From now on they shall put far from me their harlotry and the corpses of their kings, and I will dwell in their midst forever.

▶ 그러나 이제 그들은 자기들의 불륜과 자기네 임금들의 주검을 나에게서 멀리 치워 버릴 것이다. 그리하여 나는 그들 가운데에서 영원히 살 것이다.

As for you, son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel (that they may be ashamed of their sins), both its measurements and its design;

▶ 너 사람의 아들아, 이스라엘 집안에게 하느님의 이 집을 설명해 주어, 자기들이 저지른 죄를 수치스럽게 여기며, 성전 모형을 측량해 보게 하여라.

(and if they are ashamed of all that they have done,) make known to them the form and design of the temple, its exits and entrances, all its statutes and laws; write these down for them to see, that they may carefully observe all its laws and statutes.

▶ 자기들이 저지른 모든 것을 그들이 수치스럽게 여기거든, 주님 집의 구조, 그 배치와 나가는 곳과 들어오는 곳을 포함한 모든 구조와 모든 규정, 그 모든 구조와 법을 그들에게 알려 주고, 그들이 보는 앞에서 그려 주어, 그 모든 구조와 규정을 준수하여 지키게 하여라.

This is the law of the temple: its whole surrounding area on the mountain top shall be most sacred.

▶ 이것이 주님 집의 법이다. 이 산꼭대기, 사방 경계가 모두 가장 거룩한 곳이다. 바로 이것이 주님 집의 법이다.”

These were the measurements of the altar in cubits of one cubit plus a handbreadth. Its base was one cubit high and one cubit deep, with a rim around its edges of one span. The height of the altar itself was as follows:

▶ 암마로 잰 제단의 치수는 다음과 같았다. 한 암마는 보통의 한 암마에 손바닥 너비를 더한 것이다. 제단의 도랑은 깊이가 한 암마, 너비가 한 암마이고, 그 가장자리에는 빙 돌아가면서 한 뼘 되는 턱이 있었다. 제단의 높이는 다음과 같았다.

from its base at the bottom up to the lower edge it was two cubits high, and this ledge was one cubit deep; from the lower to the upper ledge it was four cubits high, and this ledge also was one cubit deep;

▶ 땅바닥에 있는 도랑에서 아래 받침의 윗면까지는 두 암마이고, 너비는 한 암마였다. 이 작은 받침에서 큰 받침 위까지는 네 암마이고, 너비는 한 암마였다.

the hearth of the altar was four cubits high, and extending from the top of the hearth were the four horns of the altar.

▶ 제단의 화덕은 네 암마 높이고, 그 화덕에는 뿔이 네 개 솟아 있었다.

The hearth was a square: twelve cubits long and twelve cubits wide.

▶ 화덕은 길이가 열두 암마, 너비도 열두 암마로서, 네 면으로 네모가 져 있었다.

The upper ledge was also a square: fourteen cubits long and fourteen cubits wide. The lower ledge, likewise a square, was sixteen cubits long and sixteen cubits wide, with a half-cubit rim surrounding it. And there was a base of one cubit all around. The steps of the altar face the east.

▶ 큰 받침은 길이가 열네 암마, 너비가 열네 암마로서, 네 면이 나 있었다. 사방 턱은 반 암마이고, 도랑은 돌아가면서 한 암마였다. 층계들은 동쪽에 나 있었다.

Then he said to me: Son of man, thus says the Lord GOD: These are the statutes for the altar when it is set up for the offering of holocausts upon it and for the sprinkling of blood against it.

▶ 그분께서 또 나에게 말씀하셨다. “사람의 아들아, 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 번제물을 바치고 피를 뿌릴 제단을 만드는 날에 지킬 제단의 규정들은 이러하다.

Give a young bull as a sin offering to the priests, the Levites who are of the line of Zadok, who draw near me to minister to me, says the Lord GOD.

▶ 주 하느님의 말이다. 너는 차독의 후손들 가운데에서, 나를 섬기려고 나에게 가까이 나아오는 레위인 사제들에게, 속죄 제물로 황소 한 마리를 내주어야 한다.

Take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar, and on the four corners of the ledge, and on the rim all around. Thus you shall purify it and make atonement for it.

▶ 그리고 너는 그 피를 얼마쯤 가져다가, 제단의 네 뿔과 받침의 네 귀퉁이와 사방 턱에 발라, 제단을 정화하고 속죄하여라.

Then take the bull of the sin offering, which is to be burnt in a designated part of the temple, outside the sanctuary.

▶ 속죄 제물로 바친 황소는 가져다가, 성전 밖, 주님 집의 지정된 곳에서 태워라.

|
On the second day present an unblemished he-goat as a sin offering, to purify the altar as was done with the bull.

|
|
|
▶ 둘째 날에는 흠 없는 숫염소 한 마리를 속죄 제물로 바치고 나서, 황소로 제단을 정화하였듯이 그것을 다시 정화하여라.

|
When you have finished the purification, bring an unblemished young bull and an unblemished ram from the flock,

▶ 정화 예식을 마친 다음에는, 흠 없는 황소 한 마리와 양 떼 가운데에서 흠 없는 숫양 한 마리를 바쳐라.

|
and present them before the LORD; the priests shall strew salt on them and offer them to the LORD as holocausts.
|

|
|
▶ 네가 그것들을 주님 앞에 바치면, 사제들은 그 위에 소금을 뿌리고 주님에게 번제물로 바쳐야 한다.

|
Daily for seven days you shall offer a he-goat as a sin offering, and a young bull and a ram from the flock, all unblemished, shall be offered
|

▶ 너는 이레 동안 날마다 속죄 제물로 염소 한 마리씩 바쳐야 한다. 그리고 황소 한 마리와 양 떼 가운데에서 숫양 한 마리를 흠 없는 것들로 바치게 하여라.

|
for seven days. Thus atonement shall be made for the altar, and it shall be purified and dedicated.
|

▶ 이렇게 이레 동안 제단을 위한 속죄 예식을 거행하여, 그것을 정화하고 봉헌하게 하여라.

|
And when these days are over, from the eighth day on, the priests shall offer your holocausts and peace offerings on the altar. Then I will accept you, says the Lord GOD.

▶ 이 기간이 끝난 뒤, 여드레째 되는 날부터는 사제들이 이 제단 위에서 너희의 번제물과 친교 제물을 바쳐야 한다. 그러면 내가 너희를 기꺼이 받아들이겠다. 주 하느님의 말이다.”
