주님의 말씀
주님의 첫째 말씀
1 주님께서 욥에게 폭풍 속에서 말씀하셨다. 1 Then the LORD addressed Job out of the storm and said:
네가 누구냐
2 지각없는 말로 내 뜻을 어둡게 하는 이자는 누구냐? 2 Who is this that obscures divine plans with words of ignorance?
3 사내답게 네 허리를 동여매어라. 너에게 물을 터이니 대답하여라. 3 Gird up your loins now, like a man; I will question you, and you tell me the answers!
땅의 주재자
4 내가 땅을 세울 때 너는 어디 있었느냐? 네가 그렇게 잘 알거든 말해 보아라. 4 Where were you when I founded the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.
5 누가 그 치수를 정하였느냐? 너는 알지 않느냐? 또 누가 그 위에 줄을 쳤느냐? 5 Who determined its size; do you know? Who stretched out the measuring line for it?
6 그 주춧돌은 어디에 박혔느냐? 또 누가 그 모퉁잇돌을 놓았느냐? 6 Into what were its pedestals sunk, and who laid the cornerstone,
7 아침 별들이 함께 환성을 지르고 하느님의 아들들이 모두 환호할 때에 말이다. 7 While the morning stars sang in chorus and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
바다의 주재자
8 누가 문을 닫아 바다를 가두었느냐? 그것이 모태에서 솟구쳐 나올 때, 8 And who shut within doors the sea, when it burst forth from the womb;
9 내가 구름을 그 옷으로, 먹구름을 그 포대기로 삼을 때, 9 When I made the clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling bands?
10 내가 그 위에다 경계를 긋고 빗장과 대문을 세우며 10 When I set limits for it and fastened the bar of its door,
11 “여기까지는 와도 되지만 그 이상은 안 된다. 너의 도도한 파도는 여기에서 멈추어야 한다.” 할 때에 말이다. 11 And said: Thus far shall you come but no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stilled!
12 너는 평생에 아침에게 명령해 본 적이 있느냐? 새벽에게 그 자리를 지시해 본 적이 있느냐? 12 Have you ever in your lifetime commanded the morning and shown the dawn its place
13 그래서 새벽이 땅의 가장자리를 붙잡아 흔들어 악인들이 거기에서 털려 떨어지게 말이다. 13 For taking hold of the ends of the earth, till the wicked are shaken from its surface?
14 땅은 도장 찍힌 찰흙처럼 형상을 드러내고 옷과 같이 그 모습을 나타낸다. 14 The earth is changed as is clay by the seal, and dyed as though it were a garment;
15 그러나 악인들에게는 빛이 거부되고 들어 올린 팔은 꺾인다. 15 But from the wicked the light is withheld, and the arm of pride is shattered.
16 너는 바다의 원천까지 가 보고 심연의 밑바닥을 걸어 보았느냐? 16 Have you entered into the sources of the sea, or walked about in the depths of the abyss?
17 죽음의 대문이 네게 드러난 적이 있으며 암흑의 대문을 네가 본 적이 있느냐? 17 Have the gates of death been shown to you, or have you seen the gates of darkness?
18 너는 땅이 얼마나 넓은지 이해할 수 있느냐? 네가 이 모든 것을 알거든 말해 보아라. 18 Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell me, if you know all:
빛과 어둠의 주재자
19 빛이 머무르는 곳으로 가는 길은 어디 있느냐? 또 어둠의 자리는 어디 있느냐? 19 Which is the way to the dwelling place of light, and where is the abode of darkness,
20 네가 그것들을 제 영토로 데려갈 수 있느냐? 그것들의 집에 이르는 길을 알고 있느냐? 20 That you may take them to their boundaries and set them on their homeward paths?
21 그때 이미 네가 태어나 이제 오래 살았으니 너는 알지 않느냐? 21 You know, because you were born before them, and the number of your years is great!
기후의 주재자
22 너는 눈 곳간에 들어간 적이 있으며 우박 곳간을 본 적이 있느냐? 22 Have you entered the storehouse of the snow, and seen the treasury of the hail
23 내가 환난의 때와 동란과 전쟁의 날을 위하여 저장해 둔 것들을? 23 Which I have reserved for times of stress, for the days of war and of battle?
24 빛이 갈라지는 길은 어디 있느냐? 샛바람이 땅 위에서 흩어지는 그 길은? 24 Which way to the parting of the winds, whence the east wind spreads over the earth?
25 누가 큰비를 위하여 수로를 깎아 텄으며 뇌성 번개를 위하여 길을 놓았느냐? 25 Who has laid out a channel for the downpour and for the thunderstorm a path
26 인간이 없는 땅, 사람이 살지 않는 광야에 비가 내리고 26 To bring rain to no man's land, the unpeopled wilderness;
27 황폐하고 황량한 광야를 흠뻑 적시며 풀밭에 싹이 트게 하려고 누가 길을 놓았느냐? 27 To enrich the waste and desolate ground till the desert blooms with verdure?
28 비에게 아버지가 있느냐? 또 누가 이슬방울들을 낳았느냐? 28 Has the rain a father; or who has begotten the drops of dew?
29 누구의 모태에서 얼음이 나왔느냐? 또 하늘의 서리는 누가 낳았느냐? 29 Out of whose womb comes the ice, and who gives the hoarfrost its birth in the skies,
30 물이 돌처럼 단단해지고 심연의 표면이 얼어붙을 때에 말이다. 30 When the waters lie covered as though with stone that holds captive the surface of the deep?
하늘의 주재자
31 너는 묘성을 끈으로 묶을 수 있느냐? 또 오리온자리를 매단 밧줄을 풀 수 있느냐? 31 Have you fitted a curb to the Pleiades, or loosened the bonds of Orion?
32 너는 별자리들을 제시간에 이끌어 내고 큰곰자리를 그 아기별들과 함께 인도할 수 있느냐? 32 Can you bring forth the Mazzaroth in their season, or guide the Bear with its train?
33 너는 하늘의 법칙들을 아느냐? 또 네가 땅에 대한 그의 지배를 확정할 수 있느냐? 33 Do you know the ordinances of the heavens; can you put into effect their plan on the earth?
34 너는 구름에게 호령하여 큰물이 너를 뒤덮게 할 수 있느냐? 34 Can you raise your voice among the clouds, or veil yourself in the waters of the storm?
35 네가 번개들을 내보내서 그것들이 제 길을 가며 너에게 “예, 알았습니다.” 하고 말하느냐? 35 Can you send forth the lightnings on their way, or will they say to you, "Here we are"?
36 누가 따오기에게 지혜를 내렸느냐? 또 누가 수탉에게 슬기를 주었느냐? 36 Who puts wisdom in the heart, and gives the cock its understanding?
37 누가 구름들을 지혜로 헤아릴 수 있느냐? 또 누가 하늘의 물통을 기울일 수 있느냐? 37 Who counts the clouds in his wisdom? Or who tilts the water jars of heaven
38 먼지가 덩어리로 굳어지고 흙덩이들이 서로 달라붙을 때에 말이다. 38 So that the dust of earth is fused into a mass and its clods made solid?
동물 세계의 주재자
39 너는 암사자에게 먹이를 사냥해 줄 수 있으며 힘센 사자의 식욕을 채워 줄 수 있느냐? 39 Do you hunt the prey for the lioness or appease the hunger of her cubs,
40 그것들이 보금자리 속에 웅크리고 있거나 덤불 속에 숨어 기다리고 있을 때에 말이다. 40 While they crouch in their dens, or lie in wait in the thicket?
41 누가 까마귀에게 먹이를 장만해 주느냐? 새끼들이 하느님에게 아우성치며 먹을 것 없이 헤매 돌아다닐 때에 말이다. 41 Who provides nourishment for the ravens when their young ones cry out to God, and they rove abroad without food?
