“너 사람의 아들아, 이스라엘의 산들에게 예언하여라. 이렇게 말하여라. ‘이스라엘의 산들아, 주님의 말을 들어라.

▶ As for you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel: Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD!

주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 원수가 너희를 두고, ′아하! 저 영원한 언덕들이 이제 우리 차지가 되었다.′ 하고 말하였다.’

▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the enemy has said of you, "Ha! the everlasting heights have become our possession"

|
그러므로 너는 예언하여라. 너는 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 사방에서 너희를 황폐하게 만들고 짓밟아서, 너희가 나머지 민족들의 차지가 된 채, 사람들의 입에 오르내리고 민족들의 중상 거리가 되었다.

▶ (therefore prophesy in these words: Thus says the Lord GOD:); because you have been ridiculed and despised on all sides for having become a possession for the rest of the nations, and have become a byword and a popular jeer;

그러므로 이스라엘의 산들아, 주 하느님의 말을 들어라. 둘레에 있는 나머지 민족들에게 약탈당하고 조롱거리가 되어 버린 산과 언덕들, 시내와 골짜기들, 황폐하게 된 폐허와 버려진 성읍들에게 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다.

▶ therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD: (Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys, the desolate ruins and abandoned cities, which have been given over to the pillage and mockery of the remaining nations round about;

그러므로 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 내가 타오르는 질투로 나머지 민족들과 온 에돔을 거슬러 말한다. 그들은 온통 기뻐하며 악의에 찬 마음으로 내 땅을 자기네 차지로 만들어, 그 목초지를 약탈하였다.’

▶ therefore thus says the Lord GOD:) Truly, with burning jealousy I speak against the rest of the nations (and against all of Edom) who with wholehearted joy and utter contempt have considered my land their possession to be delivered over to plunder.

그러니 너는 이스라엘 땅을 두고 예언하여라. 산과 언덕들, 시내와 골짜기들에게 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 너희가 민족들에게 수치를 당하였으니, 나 이제 질투와 진노로 말한다.

▶ (Therefore, prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys: Thus says the Lord GOD:) With jealous fury I speak, because you have borne the reproach of the nations.

그러므로 주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 내가 손을 들어 맹세한다. 너희 둘레에 있는 민족들, 그들이야말로 마땅한 수치를 당할 것이다.

▶ Therefore do I solemnly swear that your neighboring nations shall bear their own reproach.
|

|
너희 이스라엘의 산들아, 내 백성 이스라엘이 곧 돌아오리니, 너희는 이제 그들을 위하여 가지를 뻗고 열매를 맺을 것이다.

|
|
▶ As for you, mountains of Israel, you shall grow branches and bear fruit for my people Israel, for they shall soon return.
|

|
자 보아라, 나 너희에게 간다. 내가 너희에게로 몸을 돌린다. 사람들이 이제 너희를 경작하고 씨를 뿌릴 것이다.

▶ See, I come to you, it is to you that I turn; you will be tilled and sown,

|
나는 너희 위에 사는 사람, 곧 온 이스라엘 집안의 사람을 불어나게 하리니, 성읍들에는 다시 사람이 살고 폐허는 재건될 것이다.

▶ and I will settle crowds of men upon you, the whole house of Israel; cities shall be repeopled, and ruins rebuilt.

|
나는 너희 위에 사는 사람과 짐승을 불어나게 하리니, 그들은 수가 불어나고 번성할 것이다. 나는 너희 위에 예전처럼 사람들이 살도록 하고, 너희에게 전보다 더 잘해 주겠다. 그제야 너희는 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다.

▶ I will settle crowds of men and beasts upon you, to multiply and be fruitful. I will repeople you as in the past, and be more generous to you than in the beginning; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.

나는 또 너희 위로 사람들이, 곧 내 백성 이스라엘이 다시 다니게 하겠다. 그들이 너희를 차지하여 너희는 그들의 상속 재산이 될 것이다. 그리하여 너희가 다시는 그들의 자식들을 앗아 가지 않을 것이다.

▶ (My people Israel are the ones whom I will have walk upon you; they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their heritage. Never again shall you rob them of their children.)

주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 사람들이 너에게 ′너는 사람을 잡아먹고 네 민족의 자식들을 앗아 간다.′ 하고 말한다.

▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: Because they have said of you, "You are a land that devours men, and you rob your people of their children";

|
그러나 네가 다시는 사람을 잡아먹지 않고, 다시는 네 민족의 자식들을 앗아 가지 않을 것이다. 주 하느님의 말이다.

|
|
▶ therefore, never again shall you devour men or rob your people of their children, says the Lord GOD.
|
|
15
|
나는 네가 다시는 민족들에게서 수치스러운 말을 듣지 않고, 다시는 겨레들에게서 모욕을 당하지 않게 하겠다. 너도 다시는 네 민족을 넘어지게 하지 않을 것이다. 주 하느님의 말이다.’”

▶ No more will I permit you to hear the reproach of nations, or bear insults from peoples, or rob your people of their children, says the Lord GOD.

“사람의 아들아, 이스라엘 집안이 자기 땅에 살 때, 그들은 자기들이 걸어온 길과 행실로 그 땅을 부정하게 만들었다. 그들이 내 앞에서 걸어온 길은 마치 달거리하는 여자의 부정과 같았다.

▶ Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their land, they defiled it by their conduct and deeds. In my sight their conduct was like the defilement of a menstruous woman.

|
그들이 그 땅에 쏟은 피 때문에, 그들이 그 땅을 더럽히며 섬긴 우상들 때문에, 나는 그들에게 내 화를 퍼부었다.

|
▶ Therefore I poured out my fury upon them (because of the blood which they poured out on the ground, and because they defiled it with idols).

그래서 그들을 민족들 사이로 쫓아 버리고 여러 나라로 흩어 버렸다. 그들의 길과 행실에 따라 그들을 심판하였다.

▶ I scattered them among the nations, dispersing them over foreign lands; according to their conduct and deeds I judged them.

사람들이 그들을 두고, ‘이자들은 주님의 백성인데 그분 땅에서 나와야만 했지.’ 하고 말하였다. 이렇게 그들은 가는 곳마다 나의 거룩한 이름을 더럽혔다.

▶ But when they came among the nations (wherever they came), they served to profane my holy name, because it was said of them: "These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave their land."

그래서 나는 이스라엘 집안이 민족들 사이로 흩어져 가 거기에서 더럽힌 나의 이름을 걱정하게 되었다.

▶ So I have relented because of my holy name which the house of Israel profaned among the nations where they came.
|

|
그러므로 이스라엘 집안에게 말하여라. ‘주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 이스라엘 집안아, 너희 때문에 내가 이 일을 하는 것이 아니다. 너희가 민족들 사이로 흩어져 가 거기에서 더럽힌 나의 거룩한 이름 때문이다.

▶ Therefore say to the house of Israel: Thus says the Lord GOD: Not for your sakes do I act, house of Israel, but for the sake of my holy name, which you profaned among the nations to which you came.

나는 민족들 사이에서 더럽혀진, 곧 너희가 그들 사이에서 더럽힌 내 큰 이름의 거룩함을 드러내겠다. 그들이 보는 앞에서 너희에게 나의 거룩함을 드러내면, 그제야 그들은 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다. 주 하느님의 말이다.

▶ I will prove the holiness of my great name, profaned among the nations, in whose midst you have profaned it. Thus the nations shall know that I am the LORD, says the Lord GOD, when in their sight I prove my holiness through you.

나는 너희를 민족들에게서 데려오고 모든 나라에서 모아다가, 너희 땅으로 데리고 들어가겠다.

▶ For I will take you away from among the nations, gather you from all the foreign lands, and bring you back to your own land.

|
그리고 너희에게 정결한 물을 뿌려, 너희를 정결하게 하겠다. 너희의 모든 부정과 모든 우상에게서 너희를 정결하게 하겠다.

▶ I will sprinkle clean water upon you to cleanse you from all your impurities, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.

|
너희에게 새 마음을 주고 너희 안에 새 영을 넣어 주겠다. 너희 몸에서 돌로 된 마음을 치우고, 살로 된 마음을 넣어 주겠다.

|
|
▶ I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you, taking from your bodies your stony hearts and giving you natural hearts.

|
나는 또 너희 안에 내 영을 넣어 주어, 너희가 나의 규정들을 따르고 나의 법규들을 준수하여 지키게 하겠다.

▶ I will put my spirit within you and make you live by my statutes, careful to observe my decrees.

|
그리하여 너희는 내가 너희 조상들에게 준 땅에서 살게 될 것이다. 너희는 나의 백성이 되고 나는 너희의 하느님이 될 것이다.

|
▶ You shall live in the land I gave your fathers; you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
|

|
나는 너희의 모든 부정에서 너희를 구원하고, 곡식을 불러들이고 풍성하게 하여, 다시는 너희에게 굶주림을 내리지 않겠다.

|
|
▶ I will save you from all your impurities; I will order the grain to be abundant, and I will not send famine against you.
|

|
또 나무의 열매와 들의 소출을 풍성하게 하여, 다시는 너희가 민족들 사이에서 굶주림으로 모욕을 당하지 않게 하겠다.

|
|
▶ I will increase the fruit on your trees and the crops in your fields; thus you shall no longer bear among the nations the reproach of famine.

|
그러면 너희는 너희의 악한 길과 좋지 않은 행실을 기억하고, 너희가 저지른 죄와 역겨운 짓 때문에 자신이 혐오스러워질 것이다.

|
|
|
|
▶ Then you shall remember your evil conduct, and that your deeds were not good; you shall loathe yourselves for your sins and your abominations.
|

|
그러나 너희 때문에 내가 이 일을 하는 것이 아니다. 주 하느님의 말이다. 너희는 그것을 알아야 한다. 이스라엘 집안아, 너희가 걸어온 길을 부끄러워하고 수치스럽게 여겨라.

▶ Not for your sakes do I act, says the Lord GOD - let this be known to you! Be ashamed and abashed because of your conduct, O house of Israel.

|
주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 내가 너희를 모든 죄에서 정결하게 해 주는 날, 성읍들에는 다시 사람이 살고 폐허는 재건되게 하겠다.

▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: When I purify you from all your crimes, I will repeople the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt;

|
이 황폐한 땅은 지나가는 모든 이의 눈앞에 황무지로 펼쳐져 있었지만, 이제는 다시 경작될 것이다.

|
▶ the desolate land shall be tilled, which was formerly a wasteland exposed to the gaze of every passer-by.

|
그래서 사람들이, ‘황폐하였던 이 땅이 에덴 정원처럼 되었구나. 폐허가 되고 황폐해지고 허물어졌던 성읍들이 다시 요새가 되어 사람들이 살게 되었구나.’ 하고 말할 것이다.

▶ "This desolate land has been made into a garden of Eden," they shall say. "The cities that were in ruins, laid waste, and destroyed are now repeopled and fortified."

|
그제야 나 주님이 허물어진 것을 다시 세우고 폐허가 된 곳에 초목을 다시 심었음을, 너희 둘레에 남아 있는 민족들이 알게 될 것이다. 나 주님은 말하고 그대로 실천한다.

▶ Thus the neighboring nations that remain shall know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt what was destroyed and replanted what was desolate. I, the LORD, have promised, and I will do it.

주 하느님이 이렇게 말한다. 나는 또 이스라엘 집안이 나에게 간청하도록 허락하여, 그들의 사람 수를 양 떼처럼 불어나게 하겠다.

▶ Thus says the Lord GOD: This also I will be persuaded to do for the house of Israel: to multiply them like sheep.

|
거룩한 제물로 바치는 양 떼처럼, 축제 때 예루살렘에 모여든 양 떼처럼, 폐허가 된 성읍들이 사람의 무리로 가득 찰 것이다. 그제야 그들은 내가 주님임을 알게 될 것이다.’”

▶ As with sacrificial sheep, the sheep of Jerusalem on its feast days, the cities which were in ruins shall be filled with flocks of men; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
