레위인들의 조직 레위인 반 조직 The Levitical Classes
1 다윗은 늙고 나이가 다 차자, 아들 솔로몬을 이스라엘의 임금으로 세웠다. 1 다윗은 수명이 다하여 늙었으므로 아들 솔로몬에게 왕위를 물려주어 이스라엘을 다스리게 하려고, 1 When David had grown old and was near the end of his days, he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
2 그러고 나서 이스라엘의 모든 대신과 사제들과 레위인들을 불러 모았다. 2 온 이스라엘의 관리와 사제와 레위인들을 불러모았다. 2 He then gathered together all the leaders of Israel, together with the priests and the Levites.
3 레위인으로서 서른 살 이상 되는 사람들을 세어 보니, 전체 장정의 수가 삼만 팔천이었다. 3 레위인으로서 삼십 세 이상 되는 사람들만 등록시키니, 장정의 수가 삼만 팔천이 되었다. 3 The Levites thirty years old and above were counted, and their total number was found to be thirty-eight thousand men.
4 그 가운데에서 이만 사천 명이 주님의 성전 일을 책임지고, 육천 명은 행정과 재판을, 4 그 가운데 이만 사천 명이 야훼의 성전 일을 맡은 자였고 육천 명은 행정과 재판을, 4 Of these, twenty-four thousand were to direct the service of the house of the LORD, six thousand were to be officials and judges,
5 사천 명은 문지기 일을, 사천 명은 다윗이 만든 찬양 악기들에 맞추어 주님을 찬양하는 일을 책임졌다. 5 사천 명은 수위 일을, 사천 명은 성가대원으로서 다윗이 만든 악기에 맞추어 야훼를 찬양하는 일을 하고 있었다. 5 four thousand were to be gatekeepers, and four thousand were to praise the LORD with the instruments which David had devised for praise.
6 다윗은 레위의 자손들을 게르손 반과 크핫 반과 므라리 반으로 나누었다. 6 다윗은 레위 후손을 게르손과 크핫과 므라리 가문별로 반을 편성하였다. 6 David divided them into classes according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
7 게르손 반에는 라단과 시므이가 있었다. 7 게르손 갈래에는 라아단파와 시므이파가 있었다. 7 To the Gershonites belonged Ladan and Shimei.
8 라단의 아들은 여히엘 우두머리, 제탐, 요엘, 이렇게 셋이다. 8 라아단파에는 수령 여히엘반과 제담반, 요엘반 해서 모두 세 반이 있었다. 8 The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, then Zetham and Joel; three in all.
9 시므이의 아들은 슬로못, 하지엘, 하란, 이렇게 셋인데, 이들이 라단 가문의 우두머리였다. 9 시므이파에는 슬로못반, 하지엘반, 하란반 이렇게 세 반이 있었다. 이들이 라아단 가문의 반장들이다. 9 The sons of Shimei were Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran; three. These were the heads of the families of Ladan.
10 시므이의 아들은 야핫, 지자, 여우스, 브리아로서, 이들이 시므이의 네 아들이다. 10 시므이파에는 야핫반, 지자반, 여우스반, 브리아반이 있었다. 이들이 시므이파의 네 반이다. 10 The sons of Shimei were Jahath, Zizah, Jeush, and Beriah; these were the sons of Shimei, four in all.
11 야핫이 우두머리고 지자가 둘째였다. 그런데 여우츠와 브리아는 아들이 많지 않아서 함께 한집안으로 등록되었다. 11 수령은 야핫이었고 그 다음은 지자였다. 그런데 여우스와 브리아는 아들이 많지 않아서 한 집안으로 등록되었다. 11 Jahath was the chief and Zizah was second to him; but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons, and therefore they were classed as a single family, fulfilling a single office.
12 크핫의 아들은 아므람, 이츠하르, 헤브론, 우찌엘, 이렇게 넷이다. 12 크핫 갈래에는 아므람파, 이스할파, 헤브론파, 우찌엘파 이렇게 네 파가 있었다. 12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel; four in all.
13 아므람의 아들은 아론과 모세이다. 아론은 성별되어, 영원히 그와 그의 자손들이 가장 거룩한 것을 봉헌하고 주님 앞에서 향을 피우며, 영원히 그분의 시중을 들고 그분의 이름으로 사람들에게 축복하는 일을 맡았다. 13 아론과 모세는 아므람파 사람이다. 아론은 가장 거룩한 일을 맡도록 성별되었다. 그와 그의 후손은 언제까지나 야훼 앞에서 향을 피우며 그를 섬기고 그의 이름으로 사람들에게 복을 빌어주는 일을 맡았다. 13 The sons of Amram were Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart to be consecrated as most holy, he and his sons forever, to offer sacrifice before the LORD, to minister to him, and to bless his name forever.
14 모세는 하느님의 사람이었고, 그의 아들들은 레위 지파의 명단에 올랐다. 14 하느님의 사람 모세와 그의 후손도 레위 지파 명단에 올랐다. 14 As for Moses, however, the man of God, his sons were counted as part of the tribe of Levi.
15 모세의 아들은 게르솜과 엘리에제르이다. 15 모세에게는 게르솜과 엘리에젤이라는 아들이 있었다. 15 The sons of Moses were Gershom and Eliezer.
16 게르솜 자손들의 우두머리는 스부엘이고, 16 게르솜파의 수령은 수바엘이었다. 16 The sons of Gershom: Shubael the chief.
17 엘리에제르 자손들의 우두머리는 르하브야였다. 엘리에제르에게는 다른 아들이 없었지만 르하브야에게는 아들이 아주 많았다. 17 엘리에젤파의 수령은 르하비야였다. 엘리에젤에게는 다른 아들이 없었지만 르하비야에게는 아들이 많았다. 17 The sons of Eliezer were Rehabiah the chief - Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very numerous.
18 이츠하르 자손들의 우두머리는 슬로밋이었다. 18 이스할파의 수령은 슬로밋이었다. 18 The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
19 헤브론 자손들의 우두머리는 여리야, 둘째는 아마르야, 셋째는 야하지엘, 넷째는 여카므암이었다. 19 헤브론파의 수령은 여리야, 그 다음은 아마리야, 셋째는 야하지엘, 넷째는 여카므암이었다. 19 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah, the chief, Amariah, the second, Jahaziel, the third, and Jekameam, the fourth.

22 엘아자르는 아들 없이 딸들만 두고 죽었다. 그래서 그들의 일족 키스의 아들들이 그들에게 장가들었다. 22 엘르아잘은 아들은 없이 딸만 남겨두고 죽었다. 그의 조카인 키스의 아들들이 그의 딸들에게 장가들었다. 22 Eleazar died leaving no sons, only daughters; the sons of Kish, their kinsmen, married them.

They performed the work of the service of the house of the LORD from twenty years of age upward,
25 다윗은 이렇게 말하였다. “주 이스라엘의 하느님께서 당신 백성을 평온하게 해 주시고, 예루살렘에 영원히 계실 것이다. 25 다윗은 이런 말을 남겼다. "이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 당신의 백성에게 태평세월을 누리게 해주시고 몸소 예루살렘에 영원한 자리를 잡으시었다. 25 David said: "The LORD, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people, and has taken up his dwelling in Jerusalem.
26 그러므로 레위인들은 더 이상 성막과 거기에 쓰는 모든 기물을 나를 필요가 없다.” 26 그러므로 이제부터 레위인들은 성막을 메고 다니거나 거기에 소용되는 모든 기구를 가지고 다닐 필요가 없게 되었다." 26 Henceforth the Levites need not carry the Dwelling or any of its furnishings or equipment.
27 다윗의 이 마지막 말에 따라 이렇게 스무 살 이상 되는 레위인들의 수가 헤아려졌다. 27 다윗의 이 유언 때문에 레위인으로서 이십 세 이상 되는 사람은 모두 등록을 하게 되었다. 27 for David's final orders were to enlist the Levites from the time they were twenty years old.
28 그들의 임무는 아론의 자손들을 도와, 주님의 집 안팎 뜰과 방들을 보살피고 거룩한 것을 모두 깨끗이 하며, 하느님의 집에서 드리는 예배를 돌보는 것이었다. 28 그들은 아론의 후손을 도와 성전 바깥 뜰과 방들을 보살피고 모든 거룩한 기구를 깨끗이 닦는 일을 하며 하느님의 성전 예배를 거들었다. 28 Rather, their duty shall be to assist the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the LORD, having charge of the courts, the chambers, and the preservation of everything holy: they shall take part in the service of the house of God.
29 또 제사상에 차려 놓는 빵, 곡식 제물로 바치는 밀가루, 누룩 없는 과자, 구운 예물과 반죽한 예물을 마련하고, 양과 크기를 재는 모든 일도 맡았다. 29 제사 상에 오르는 빵, 곡식 예물로 바치는 밀가루, 누룩 안 든 과자를 분량과 크기가 맞게 반죽하여 빵 굽는 판에 구워내는 일도 맡았다. 29 They shall also have charge of the showbread, of the fine flour for the cereal offering, of the wafers of unleavened bread, and of the baking and mixing, and of all measures of quantity and size.
30 그리고 아침마다 주님 앞에 나아가 서서 주님께 찬송과 찬양을 드리고 저녁에도 그렇게 하였다. 30 또 아침 저녁으로 야훼 앞에 나가 감사 찬송도 올리게 되어 있었다. 30 They must be present every morning to offer thanks and to praise the LORD, and likewise in the evening;
31 또한 안식일과 초하룻날과 축일에 주님께 번제물을 바칠 적마다, 법규에 따라 정해진 때에 주님 앞에 바치는 일을 맡았다. 31 안식일이나 초하루나 그 밖의 절기에 야훼께 번제를 바칠 때는 언제나 정원대로 야훼 앞에 나가 감사 찬송을 올려야 했다. 31 and at every offering of holocausts to the LORD on sabbaths, new moons, and feast days, in such numbers as are prescribed, they must always be present before the LORD.
32 그들은 이렇게 만남의 천막과 성소를 보살피는 임무를 맡았으며, 자기들의 형제인 아론의 자손들을 도와 주님의 집에서 드리는 예배를 돌보는 임무도 맡았다. 32 그들은 그렇게 만남의 장막, 성소를 보살폈고 한 집안인 아론 후손이 야훼의 성전에서 예배 드릴 때 도와줄 임무를 띠고 있었다. 32 They shall observe what is prescribed for them concerning the meeting tent, the sanctuary, and the sons of Aaron, their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD."
