시서와지혜서 시편 제 78장

1 [마스킬. 아삽] 내 백성아, 나의 가르침을 들어라. 내 입이 하는 말에 너희 귀를 기울여라. 1 A maskil of Asaph. Attend, my people, to my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth.
2 내가 입을 열어 격언을, 예로부터 내려오는 금언들을 말하리라. 2 I will open my mouth in story, drawing lessons from of old.
3 우리가 들어서 아는 것을 우리 조상들이 우리에게 들려준 것을. 3 We have heard them, we know them; our ancestors have recited them to us.
4 우리가 그 자손들에게 숨기지 않고 미래의 세대에게 들려주려 한다. 주님의 영광스러운 행적과 권능을 그분께서 일으키신 기적들을. 4 We do not keep them from our children; we recite them to the next generation, The praiseworthy and mighty deeds of the LORD, the wonders that he performed.
5 그분께서 야곱에 법을 정하시고 이스라엘에 가르침을 세우셨으니 우리 조상들에게 명령하신 것으로서 이를 그 자손들에게 알리려 하심이다. 5 God set up a decree in Jacob, established a law in Israel: What he commanded our ancestors, they were to teach their children;
6 미래의 세대, 장차 태어날 자손들이 알아듣고서 그들도 일어나 제 자손들에게 들려주게 하시려는 것이다. 6 That the next generation might come to know, children yet to be born. In turn they were to recite them to their children,
7 이들이 하느님께 신뢰를 두고 하느님의 업적을 잊지 않으며 그분의 계명을 지키어 7 that they too might put their trust in God, And not forget the works of God, keeping his commandments.
8 고집 부리고 반항하는 세대였던 그들의 조상들처럼 되지 말라 하심이다. 그 세대는 마음을 확고히 하지 않고 그들의 정신은 하느님께 신실하지 않았다. 8 They were not to be like their ancestors, a rebellious and defiant generation, A generation whose heart was not constant, whose spirit was not faithful to God,
9 에프라임의 자손들, 활로 무장한 그들이 전투의 날에 등을 돌렸다. 9 Like the ranks of Ephraimite archers, who retreated on the day of battle.
10 그들은 하느님의 계약을 지키지 않고 그분의 가르침에 따라 걷기를 마다하였다. 10 They did not keep God's covenant; they refused to walk by his law.
11 그리고 잊어버렸다, 그분의 위업을 그들에게 보여 주신 기적들을. 11 They forgot his works, the wondrous deeds he had shown them.
12 그분께서는 그들의 조상들 앞에서 이적을 일으키셨다, 이집트 땅 초안 평야에서. 12 In the sight of their ancestors God did wonders, in the land of Egypt, the plain of Zoan.
13 바다를 가르시어 그들을 건너가게 하시고 물을 둑처럼 세우셨다. 13 He split the sea and led them across, piling up the waters rigid as walls.
14 낮에는 구름으로, 밤이면 불빛으로 그들을 인도하셨다. 14 God led them with a cloud by day, all night with the light of fire.
15 사막에서 바위들을 쪼개시어 심연에서처럼 흡족히 물을 마시게 하셨다. 15 He split rock in the desert, gave water to drink, abounding as the deep.
16 돌덩이에서 시내들이 솟게 하시어 강처럼 물이 흘러내리게 하셨다. 16 He made streams flow from crags, drew out rivers of water.
17 그러나 그들은 끊임없이 그분께 죄를 짓고 사막에서 지극히 높으신 분께 반항하였다. 17 But they went on sinning against him, rebelling against the Most High in the desert.
18 마음속으로 하느님을 시험하며 제 욕심대로 먹을 것을 요구하였다. 18 They tested God in their hearts, demanding the food they craved.
19 하느님을 거슬러 말하였다. “하느님이신들 광야에다 상을 차려 내실 수 있으랴? 19 They spoke against God, and said, "Can God spread a table in the desert?
20 보라, 바위를 치시니 물이 흐르고 시냇물이 넘쳐흘렀지만 빵까지 주실 수 있으랴? 당신 백성에게 고기를 장만해 주실 수 있으랴?” 20 True, when he struck the rock, water gushed forth, the wadis flooded. But can he also provide bread, give meat to his people?"
21 이에 주님께서 들으시고 격노하시니 야곱을 거슬러 불길이 타오르고 이스라엘을 거슬러 분노가 솟아올랐다. 21 The LORD heard and grew angry; fire blazed up against Jacob; anger flared up against Israel.
22 그들이 하느님을 믿지 않고 그분의 도우심에 의지하지 않았기 때문이다. 22 For they did not believe in God, did not trust in his saving power.
23 그러나 그분께서는 위의 구름에 명령하시고 하늘의 문들을 여시어 23 So he commanded the skies above; the doors of heaven he opened.
24 그들 위에 만나를 비처럼 내려 먹게 하시고 하늘의 곡식을 그들에게 주셨다. 24 God rained manna upon them for food; bread from heaven he gave them.
25 천사들의 빵을 사람이 먹었다. 그들에게 음식을 배부르도록 보내셨다. 25 All ate a meal fit for heroes; food he sent in abundance.
26 하늘에서 샛바람을 일으키시고 당신 힘으로 마파람을 몰아오시어 26 He stirred up the east wind in the heavens; by his power God brought on the south wind.
27 그들 위에 고기를 먼지처럼, 날짐승을 바다의 모래처럼 내리셨다. 27 He rained meat upon them like dust, winged fowl like the sands of the sea,
28 당신의 진영 한가운데에, 당신의 거처 둘레에 떨어지게 하시어 28 Brought them down in the midst of the camp, round about their tents.
29 그들이 실컷 먹고 배불렀으니 그들의 욕심을 채워 주신 것이다. 29 They ate and were well filled; he gave them what they had craved.
30 그러나 그들은 입에 먹을 것이 들어 있는데도 욕심을 멀리하지 않았다. 30 But while they still wanted more, and the food was still in their mouths,
31 하느님의 분노가 그들을 거슬러 치솟아 그들 가운데 건장한 사나이들을 죽이시고 이스라엘의 젊은이들을 거꾸러뜨리셨다. 31 God's anger attacked them, killed their best warriors, laid low the youth of Israel.
32 이 모든 것을 보고도 그들은 여전히 죄를 짓고 그분의 기적들을 믿지 않았다. 32 In spite of all this they went on sinning, they did not believe in his wonders.
33 이에 그분께서는 그들의 날수를 단숨에, 그들의 햇수를 공포 속에 스러지게 하셨다. 33 God ended their days abruptly, their years in sudden death.
34 그들을 죽이실 제야 그들은 그분을 찾고 돌이켜 하느님을 찾아 34 When he slew them, they began to seek him; they again inquired of their God.
35 하느님께서 그들의 바위이심을, 지극히 높으신 하느님께서 그들의 구원자이심을 기억하였다. 35 They remembered that God was their rock, God Most High, their redeemer.
36 그러나 그들은 입으로 그분을 속이고 혀로 그분께 거짓말하였다. 36 But they deceived him with their mouths, lied to him with their tongues.
37 그들은 그분께 마음을 확고히 하지 않고 그분 계약에 신실하지 않았다. 37 Their hearts were not constant toward him; they were not faithful to his covenant.
38 그러나 그분께서는 자비하시어 죄를 용서하시고 그들을 멸망시키지 않으셨다. 당신 분노를 거듭 돌이키시고 당신 진노를 결코 터뜨리지 않으셨다. 38 But God is merciful and forgave their sin; he did not utterly destroy them. Time and again he turned back his anger, unwilling to unleash all his rage.
39 그들이 한낱 살덩어리임을, 가면 돌아오지 못하는 바람임을 기억하셨다. 39 He was mindful that they were flesh, a breath that passes and does not return.
40 그들이 광야에서 몇 번이나 그분께 반항하였고 황야에서 몇 번이나 그분을 괴롭혔던가! 40 How often they rebelled against God in the desert, grieved him in the wasteland.
41 그들은 끊임없이 하느님을 시험하고 이스라엘의 거룩하신 분을 슬프게 하였다. 41 Again and again they tested God, provoked the Holy One of Israel.
42 그들은 기억하지 않았다, 그분의 손을 자기들을 적에게서 구하신 그날을 42 They did not remember his power, the day he redeemed them from the foe,
43 이집트에서 일으키신 그분의 표징들을 초안 평야에서 당신의 이적들을 일으키신 그날을. 43 When he displayed his wonders in Egypt, his marvels in the plain of Zoan.
44 저들의 강을 피로 바꾸시니 저들이 그 시내에서 물을 마시지 못하였다. 44 God changed their rivers to blood; their streams they could not drink.
45 등에 떼를 보내시어 저들을 뜯어 먹게 하시고 개구리 떼를 보내시어 저들을 망하게 하셨다. 45 He sent insects that devoured them, frogs that destroyed them.
46 저들의 수확을 메뚜기 떼에게, 저들의 소출을 누리 떼에게 내주셨다. 46 He gave their harvest to the caterpillar, the fruits of their labor to the locust.
47 우박으로 저들의 포도나무를, 서리로 저들의 돌무화과나무를 죽이셨다. 47 He killed their vines with hail, their sycamores with frost.
48 저들의 가축을 우박에게, 저들의 양 떼를 번개에게 넘기셨다. 48 He exposed their flocks to deadly hail, their cattle to lightning.
49 저들에게 당신 분노의 열기를, 격분과 격노와 환난을, 재앙의 천사 무리를 보내셨다. 49 He unleashed against them his fiery breath, roar, fury, and distress, storming messengers of death.
50 당신 분노의 길을 닦으시어 저들의 목숨을 죽음에서 구하지 않으시고 저들의 생명을 흑사병에게 넘기셨다. 50 He cleared a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death; he delivered their beasts to the plague.
51 이집트의 모든 맏아들을, 함의 천막 속 저들 정력의 첫 소생을 치셨다. 51 He struck all the firstborn of Egypt, love's first child in the tents of Ham.
52 당신 백성을 양 떼처럼 이끌어 내시어 광야에서 그들을 가축 떼처럼 인도하셨다. 52 God led forth his people like sheep; he guided them through the desert like a flock.
53 안전하게 이끄시니 그들은 무서워하지 않았고 그들의 적들은 바다가 뒤덮어 버렸다. 53 He led them on secure and unafraid, but the sea enveloped their enemies.
54 그들을 당신의 거룩한 영토로, 당신 오른팔이 마련하신 이 산으로 데려오셨다. 54 He brought them to his holy land, the mountain his right hand had won.
55 그들 앞에서 민족들을 쫓아내시어 그 땅을 제비 뽑아 상속 재산으로 나누어 주시고 이스라엘의 지파들을 그 천막에 살게 하셨다. 55 God drove out the nations before them, apportioned them a heritage by lot, settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.
56 그러나 그들은 지극히 높으신 하느님을 시험하고 그분께 반항하며 그분의 법을 지키지 않았다. 56 But they tested, rebelled against God Most High, his decrees they did not observe.
57 그들의 조상들처럼 배신하고 배반하여 뒤틀린 활처럼 되어 버렸다. 57 They turned back, deceitful like their ancestors; they proved false like a bow with no tension.
58 자기네 산당으로 그분을 언짢으시게 하고 자기네 우상으로 그분을 진노하시게 하였다. 58 They enraged him with their high places; with their idols they goaded him.
59 하느님께서는 들으시고 격노하시어 이스라엘을 아주 버리시고 59 God heard and grew angry; he rejected Israel completely.
60 실로의 거처를, 사람들 사이에 치셨던 그 장막을 내버리셨다. 60 He forsook the shrine at Shiloh, the tent where he dwelt with humans.
61 당신의 힘을 적에게 사로잡히게 하시고 당신의 영광을 적의 손에 내주셨다. 61 He gave up his might into captivity, his glorious ark into the hands of the foe.
62 당신 백성을 칼에 넘기시고 당신 소유에게 격노하셨다. 62 God abandoned his people to the sword; he was enraged against his heritage.
63 그들의 젊은이들은 불이 삼켜 버리고 처녀들에게는 사랑 노래 들리지 않았다. 63 Fire consumed their young men; their young women heard no wedding songs.
64 그들의 사제들은 칼에 쓰러지고 과부들은 곡을 하지도 못하였다. 64 Their priests fell by the sword; their widows made no lamentation.
65 그러나 주님께서는 잠자던 사람처럼, 술로 달아오른 용사처럼 깨어나셨다. 65 Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a warrior from the effects of wine.
66 당신 적들을 물리치시고 그들에게 영원한 수치를 안겨 주셨다. 66 He put his enemies to flight; everlasting shame he dealt them.
67 그러나 요셉의 천막을 버리시고 에프라임 지파를 뽑지 않으셨다. 67 He rejected the tent of Joseph, chose not the tribe of Ephraim.
68 오히려 유다 지파를, 당신께서 사랑하시는 시온 산을 뽑으셨다. 68 God chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which he favored.
69 당신 성전을 드높은 하늘처럼, 영원히 굳게 세우신 땅처럼 지으셨다. 69 He built his shrine like the heavens, like the earth which he founded forever.
70 당신 종 다윗을 뽑으시고 그를 양 우리에서 이끌어 내셨다. 70 He chose David his servant, took him from the sheepfold.
71 어미 양을 치던 그를 데려오시어 당신의 백성 야곱을, 당신의 소유 이스라엘을 양처럼 돌보게 하시니 71 From tending sheep God brought him, to shepherd Jacob, his people, Israel, his heritage.
72 그가 온전한 마음으로 그들을 돌보고 슬기로운 손으로 그들을 이끌었다. 72 He shepherded them with a pure heart; with skilled hands he guided them.
